  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

To study in USA for Indian students, SAT is the widely accepted exam. The exam evaluates your math and essay-writing skills in addition to your reading, writing, and language skills.

The SAT is primarily multiple-choice and can take up to three hours and 45 minutes to complete. One of the other requirements to study in USA for Indian students is that you should take the SAT essay section. Overall, the SAT evaluates students on a wide range of skills in four sections: writing, reading, calculator math, and no calculator math.

Top institutions typically accept SAT scores between 1400 and 1500, out of a possible total score range of 400 to 1600. 

  • American College Test  (ACT)

The most frequently required standardized entrance exams for postgraduate studies in the US are the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) and Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

  • Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)

GMAT, as its name suggests, is made for people who want to attend an MBA program or another management-related institution. As a requirement to study in USA for Indian students, this exam includes the analytical writing assessment in addition to the quantitative reasoning, quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, and integrated reasoning sections.

Most US universities require a GMAT score of 650 or above, and the range of GMAT scores is 200 to 800. 

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

It consists of four multiple-choice sections and a written assignment, and you have up to eight days to finish it before your exam. The required LSAT score is often 152. Good LSAT scores start at 160 and go up from there. 

Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)

One of the requirements to study in USA for Indian students wanting to pursue medical school is completing the MCAT. It is a standardized test utilized by medical schools to assess the applicant’s aptitude for succeeding in a medical school program.

The multiple-choice exam takes seven and a half hours to finish. The MCAT, which is facilitated by the Association of American Medical Colleges, evaluates your capacity for critical thought and existing scientific knowledge in four main areas:

  • Critical analysis and reasoning skills
  • Psychological, social, and biological foundations of behavior
  • Chemical and physical foundations of biological systems
  • Biochemical and biological foundations of living systems

Additionally, there is an extra fee of $55 if you register for the MCAT after the deadline has passed and you have eight days or less until the exam.
