According to Jasmine Ruys, associate vice president of enrollment services at Canyons, as a complete student success program, Promise is committed to building a community where students may feel at home, have easy access to resources, and receive the assistance they need to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals.
In addition to paying for tuition, the program offers students high-touch student support as well as continuing academic and career counseling to help them stay on track. It also makes use of the many resources available to students throughout the campus to help them succeed.
Students have saved more than US$2.3 million in tuition and fees as a result of the initiative. Nearly half of the 4,421 Canyons Promise students who enrolled since the program’s inception achieved their associate’s degree or career certificate within two years.
