CUET UG Registration 2026

CUET UG exam registration with NTA does not register you with any college. It gives you a seat in the test and, later, a score. You must apply separately to each university, such as University of Delhi through CSAS. NTA has not opened CUET UG exam registration for 2027 as of 20 October 2026. The 2026 form was open from 3 to 30 January 2026.

Is CUET UG exam registration open for 2027?

No, CUET UG exam registration is not open for 2027. NTA has not announced the CUET UG 2027 registration dates as of 20 October 2026. The NTA exam calendar of 16 September 2026 does not list CUET UG. We expect CUET UG exam registration between January and March 2027. This is our inference from the 2025 and 2026 cycles.

Is CUET UG exam registration the same as applying to a college?

No, they are two different steps. CUET UG exam registration gets you the test and the score. The university form gets you a seat. The table shows the difference, using University of Delhi as the example.

Use your NTA Application Number to start the DU form. This number is also the key to your admit card, answer key challenge and score card. NTA's role stops after the score. The CUET UG 2027 registration dates are not announced. For 2026, the CUET UG exam registration form was open from 3 to 30 January 2026. It closed at 11:50 PM on the last day.

What is the CUET UG registration last date for 2027?

The CUET UG registration last date for 2027 is not announced. In 2026, the CUET UG exam registration form closed on 30 January 2026. The CUET UG registration last date for the fee was 31 January 2026. Dates can move, so rely only on the NTA bulletin.

Can NTA extend the CUET UG registration last date?

Yes, NTA extended the CUET UG registration last date in 2025. The 2025 bulletin said 1 to 22 March 2025, and the form stayed open until 24 March 2025. We did not find a 2026 extension notice. So the final 2026 dates may differ from the bulletin.

If NTA repeats the 2025 and 2026 pattern, the CUET UG 2027 registration could start between January and March 2027. Do not wait for the CUET UG registration last date to arrive. Keep your documents ready before CUET UG exam registration opens. The CUET UG exam date 2027 page tracks updates.

You can complete CUET UG exam registration if you passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam. You can also register if you are appearing in Class 12 that year. This is the rule of the 2026 bulletin, and NTA has not announced a 2027 rule.

CUET UG exam registration has no age limit in the 2026 bulletin. Each university sets its own age rule at admission. DU, for example, has no minimum age except for regulated programmes.

CUET UG exam registration alone does not give you a seat. Each university sets its own programme eligibility. NTA says mere appearance gives no right to admission.

Can I register if I am appearing in Class 12?

Yes, candidates who are appearing in Class 12 can register for CUET UG exam registration. Candidates who already passed Class 12 can register too. If you are repeating Class 12, choose "Passed" in the form. The bulletin states no limit on the number of attempts.

Which qualifying exams does CUET UG accept?

CUET UG exam registration accepts Class 12 from a recognised board and several equivalent exams. The 2026 bulletin names these:

• CBSE, CISCE or any recognised State board 10+2, Intermediate or two-year pre-university.
• NDA two-year course.
• NIOS senior secondary with at least five subjects.
• Foreign or Indian boards that AIU or UGC treat as equal.
• HSC vocational.
• AICTE or State board diploma of at least three years.
• GCE A-level, Cambridge High School Certificate or IB Diploma.

Your subjects for the test need not match Class 12. You can choose up to five, whatever you studied. But the university decides at admission. DU asks that CUET subjects match the Class 12 subjects you passed. So choose your papers by the course you want.

The bulletin has no nationality bar for the test. Foreign candidates can pick cities by their address, and NTA has centres outside India. DU separately needs a citizen of India or an Overseas Citizen of India for regular seats.

To register for CUET UG 2027, you fill the online form on cuet.nta.nic.in. CUET UG exam registration is online only. NTA accepts no form in any other mode. The steps below follow the 2026 bulletin.

1. Open cuet.nta.nic.in and register as a new candidate. Note the Application Number the system gives you.
2. Set a password of 8 to 13 characters. Use one upper case letter, one lower case letter and one digit. Add one special character such as @, #, $, % or *. Choose a security question.
3. Fill your personal details and your educational qualification. Choose the university and programme details.
4. Choose your test papers. You can pick up to five.
5. Choose your exam cities. You can give up to four, within the state of your present or permanent address. NTA may allot another city.
6. Upload your photograph, signature and other documents.
7. Pay the fee online. Then download the Confirmation Page, which appears only after a successful payment.

That is all of CUET UG exam registration. Here is a made-up example. A student wants B.Com. (Hons.) at DU. She reads the DU Bulletin of Information first. Then she picks one language, Accountancy or Mathematics, and two more subjects as DU allows. She fills the NTA form with those papers.

Use one mobile number and one email for one application. NTA says multiple applications lead to cancellation of the result. Do not lose your Application Number and password. Your emergency contact email and mobile must differ from your own.

What if my Confirmation Page does not appear after payment?

If the Confirmation Page does not appear, NTA treats the payment as cancelled. You have to pay again. If a payment is made twice, NTA reconciles it and refunds the duplicate after the result. Never share your password with anyone.

Do I need Aadhaar or APAAR ID for CUET UG registration?

You can verify with Aadhaar or with DigiLocker documents. The Aadhaar OTP goes to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar. An APAAR ID is not mandatory. A name mismatch between your Class 10 marksheet and Aadhaar does not affect your candidature, as per the 2026 FAQs.

The CUET UG 2027 registration fee is not announced. In 2026, General candidates paid ₹1,000 for up to three subjects in CUET UG exam registration. Each extra subject cost ₹400. The 2025 fees were the same, but the CUET UG registration fees for 2027 may differ.

The CUET UG registration fees of 2026 depend on your category and the number of subjects. If you have no Confirmation Page after payment, NTA treats the payment as cancelled.

How much is the CUET UG registration fee for 5 subjects?

For five subjects, a General candidate paid ₹1,800 in 2026. That is ₹1,000 for three subjects plus two extra subjects at ₹400 each. The table has the totals for other categories.

The CUET UG registration fees for five subjects are simple sums of the official fee table. Bank or gateway charges and GST are extra. In the bulletin table, net banking, debit card, credit cards and UPI through HDFC show nil charges. Other banks have their own charges.

You can pay the CUET UG registration fees by Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI. The 2026 FAQs also list Wallet. Pay for CUET UG exam registration only on the NTA payment page, and keep the Confirmation Page after payment. The CUET UG 2027 fees page has more on fees.

Is there a late fee or a refund for CUET UG registration?

NTA has not published a late fee on the CUET UG registration fees, and the fee is not refunded. The bulletin says no request for refund will be entertained under any circumstances. The only extra fee in 2025 was for a correction that added subjects. A different fee of ₹200 for each question applies to answer key challenges.

• Class 10 and Class 12 details, such as roll numbers and marks.
• Aadhaar, or DigiLocker documents, for verification.
• A recent scanned passport-size photograph and a live photo.
• Your signature, scanned.
• Identity proof, if you do not verify with Aadhaar or DigiLocker.
• Disability or UDID certificate, if you claim PwD or PwBD status.
• Your own mobile number and email, and a different emergency contact.

Keep the documents for the university stage separate. DU CSAS asks for different papers. These include category certificates for SC, ST, OBC-NCL and EWS. They also include minority, CW, KM, PwBD and single girl child certificates. Sports and ECA certificates must be issued between 1 May 2023 and 30 April 2026 for the 2026 round. Your CUET UG exam registration does not cover these.

What are the rules for the CUET UG photograph?

The photograph must be recent and in colour. At least 80% of your face must be visible, including the ears. You cannot wear a mask. The background must be white. NTA also takes a live photo while you fill the form.

Carry one passport-size photo, the same as the one you uploaded, for the attendance sheet at the exam centre. That is what the bulletin says. The 10 May 2026 press briefing asked for two passport photos, so read the latest NTA notice before the exam. If your live photo at the centre does not match your Aadhaar or ID photo, carry the required original certificate. A competent authority must attest it.
