Scholarships to study in the US

The US continues to be the most popular study destination when students look for scholarships for studying abroad. The US draws students from more than 200 countries and territories, according to the 2021 Open Doors report. 

The government or institutions with private funding both provide scholarships for studying in the USA for the students of that country and for foreign students. They can take a variety of shapes: some are fractional scholarships, others are complete grants, some might only pay for your education, some may pay for your living costs, some may pay for both at once, etc.

Government-Sponsored Awards 

For foreign students enrolled in the US, there are mainly two government-funded scholarship opportunities. These two scholarship programs are designed to help both degree-seeking students and those enrolled in non-degree programs. Those two scholarship to study in US are:

Some other points of these two scholarships: 

    1. Foreign Fulbright Student Program

  • With the exception of medicine, graduate students, artists, and young professionals can use it.
  • International students may study in the United States for a minimum of one year and a maximum of four years.
  • Almost all costs are covered by the Fulbright grant, which also includes living expenses and travel costs.

    2. Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program

  • This is a non-degree scholarship program for seasoned professionals from abroad
  • The duration is only for 10 months studying in the US
  • Students can study and advance their knowledge at academic institutions across the country even though the money does not support degree qualifications.

Non-Government US Scholarships 

In contrast to other kinds of scholarships, non-government financed scholarships typically offer less money and aid. These may be useful in helping students with extra daily expenses.
