The NEET UG exam fees depend on your category. In 2026, the fee was ₹1,700 for General and ₹1,600 for EWS and OBC-NCL. It was ₹1,000 for SC, ST, PwBD and Third Gender candidates. Processing charges and GST came on top. The 2026 cycle also showed the side effect of a per-cycle fee. NTA cancelled the 3 May 2026 exam, took no fresh fee for the re-exam, and ran a separate refund process.
NTA has not announced the NEET UG 2027 exam fees as of 20 October 2026. Plan with the 2026 figures until NTA announces a change. The NEET UG exam fees below cover the NTA application fee, MCC counselling fees and MBBS costs. The figures are 2026-cycle facts from the Information Bulletin and NTA notices. The NEET UG exam registration page explains the form itself.

The NEET UG exam fees are set by category and paid online, with processing charges and GST added. The table shows the 2026 NEET fee structure. It comes from the , because NTA has announced nothing for 2027. These NEET UG registration fees are paid once for each exam.
| Item | NEET UG 2026 detail |
|---|---|

| EWS and OBC-NCL | ₹1,600 |
| SC, ST, PwBD and Third Gender | ₹1,000 |
| Centres outside India | ₹9,500 |
| Payment modes | Credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI |
| Fee for the 21 June 2026 re-exam | None. No fresh fee was taken |
| NEET 2027 fees | Not announced |
The NEET UG exam fees in 2026 ran from ₹1,000 to ₹1,700 for centres in India, depending on category. Candidates who chose a centre outside India paid ₹9,500. Processing charges and GST came on top. NEET 2027 fees will be known only after NTA publishes the bulletin. The NEET UG exam fees are paid online.
Yes. NEET UG is one entrance test for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and B.Sc Nursing, so you pay one fee for the one form. The NEET fee structure has no course-wise split.
No. The NEET UG application fee covers only the NTA exam. The MCC counselling fee and state fees are covered below.
The NEET UG exam fees did not change between 2025 and 2026. The NEET UG application fee 2026 was the same as in 2025 for every category. The NEET fee structure stayed fixed, and there is no 2027 change to report yet.
| Category | NEET UG 2025 | NEET UG 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| General | ₹1,700 | ₹1,700 |
| EWS and OBC-NCL | ₹1,600 | ₹1,600 |
| SC, ST, PwBD and Third Gender | ₹1,000 | ₹1,000 |
No. The NEET UG exam fees for 2026 were the same as in 2025 for all three category lines. The Information Bulletin of 2026 listed ₹1,700, ₹1,600 and ₹1,000 as the fees.
NTA has announced no NEET UG 2027 exam fees, so no increase or cut is confirmed. An unchanged fee is plausible because the NEET UG exam fees stayed the same for two years. That is a pattern, not a notice. The mode of the exam may also change for 2027. NTA has not said how that would affect the NEET application fee or the NEET 2027 fees.
The NEET UG exam fees for General candidates were ₹1,700 in 2026, and ₹1,600 for EWS and OBC-NCL candidates. Both amounts exclude processing charges and GST. Under the NEET fee structure, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates pay ₹100 less than General candidates. A candidate who chose an exam centre outside India paid ₹9,500.
| Category | NEET UG 2026 fee | What it excludes |
|---|---|---|
| General | ₹1,700 | Processing charges and GST |
| EWS | ₹1,600 | Processing charges and GST |
| OBC-NCL | ₹1,600 | Processing charges and GST |
| Centres outside India | ₹9,500 | Processing charges and GST |
The NEET UG application fee 2026 was ₹1,700 for General and ₹1,600 for OBC-NCL candidates. Only the non-creamy layer OBC category gets the lower fee. Both are NEET UG registration fees for a centre in India. Check the NEET UG exam fees for your category before you open the form. The final amount at payment includes processing charges and GST.
No. The 2026 fee list has no separate line for girls. The NEET application fee depends on category, not gender. A girl candidate pays the fee of her own category. In 2026, women were the larger group among registrants, at 13,32,914 of 22,79,743, as per NTA's Key Data Points.
OBC-NCL means Other Backward Classes, non-creamy layer. The ₹1,600 fee line names only OBC-NCL and EWS, so check that your certificate matches before you pay.
The 2026 fee list shows ₹9,500 for centres outside India. NTA data for 2026 shows 1,066 NRI, 1,007 OCI and 927 foreign national registrants.
SC, ST, PwBD and Third Gender candidates paid ₹1,000 as the NEET UG exam fees in 2026. Processing charges and GST came on top. These NEET UG registration fees are the lowest of the lines. NTA lists these four groups in one line, with no further split.
The NEET UG application fee 2026 for SC, ST, PwBD and Third Gender candidates was ₹1,000. The fee line lists PwBD alongside SC, ST and Third Gender, so a PwBD candidate pays ₹1,000. The 2026 fee list shows no waiver.
No waiver is listed. SC and ST candidates pay the reduced NEET UG exam fees of ₹1,000, not zero. The lower amount is the benefit in the fee table. At counselling, MCC also charges a lower registration fee to SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates, as shown below.
The MCC counselling fee for NEET UG is separate from the NEET UG exam fees paid to NTA. In 2026, MCC charged a non-refundable registration fee and a refundable security deposit. The amounts depend on the type of institute and your category.
| MCC 2026 counselling | Registration fee (non-refundable) | Security deposit (refundable) |
|---|---|---|
| All India quota, central universities, AIIMS, JIPMER: General and EWS | ₹1,000 | ₹10,000 |
| Same, for SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates | ₹500 | ₹5,000 |
| Deemed universities | ₹5,000 | ₹2,00,000 |
A candidate who applies to both groups pays only the higher fee. MCC announced the fees in its revised UG 2026 Information Bulletin on the official MCC website. The 2027 MCC counselling fee is not announced.
The MCC counselling fee in 2026 ran from ₹500 to ₹5,000 for registration. The security deposit ran from ₹5,000 to ₹2,00,000. The NEET UG counselling page explains the rounds and the choice-filling process.
You lose the security deposit if MCC allots you a seat in Round 2 or later. You must then join, or the deposit is forfeited. Exit with forfeiture also removes you from the later rounds. The deposit is refundable otherwise, under MCC rules. State counselling fees are set by each state authority and are not covered here. They are separate from the NEET UG exam fees.
No official MBBS fee range exists for the whole country, because state fee committees set the fees. Government college fees are subsidised and vary by state, and private and deemed colleges charge much more. The MBBS fee is not part of the NEET UG exam fees. Use each state's fee notice and each college's own page for the real figure.
For scale, NMC's seat matrix for 2026-27 lists 839 colleges and 140,664 MBBS seats, as on 18 September 2026. The seat matrix is subject to revision.
| College type | Colleges | MBBS seats |
|---|---|---|
| Government | 447 | 64,121 |
| Private | 392 | 76,543 |
The MBBS fee after NEET UG depends on the state and the college type. It is far larger than the NEET UG exam fees. Government MBBS fees are subsidised and vary by state, and no official national figure exists. Private and deemed college fees are far higher. The NEET UG colleges page lists the colleges that take NEET UG scores.
The figures below are not official. They come from an analysis of 2026-27 fee data. Of 62 deemed-university medical colleges analysed, 46 have a total programme cost above ₹1 crore. That is eight more than last year. Of 59 colleges reviewed, 41 raised their 2026-27 fees, by less than 1% to 29%. One deemed university in Chennai charges about ₹35 lakh a year. That is around ₹1.6 crore in total, excluding hostel and mess.
Yes, in general. Government colleges charge subsidised fees. Private and deemed colleges charge fees that can run to many lakh rupees a year. Private colleges hold 76,543 of the 140,664 seats, which is more than half. Check the state fee notice before you fill choices, because the gap differs by state.
No. The college type and the quota decide the fee. A rank in a government college gives a subsidised fee, and a seat in a private or deemed college gives a higher fee.
Not always. The deemed-university example above excludes hostel and mess. Ask each college for the full cost.

It is refundable in full for an accepted challenge in 2026, as per the 15 May re-exam notice. The bulletin said the ₹200 per question was non-refundable, and the 2025 fee was non-refundable. Follow the notice of the year. The NEET UG answer key page explains the challenge process.
NTA allows no re-checking or re-evaluation of OMR sheets, as per the bulletin. NTA removes records after 90 days, and legal challenges must be filed within 30 days.
No. The ₹200 fee for the OMR sheet and recorded response view is non-refundable, and the view needs two-factor authentication.
You pay the NEET UG exam fees online, as part of the application. The modes are credit card, debit card, net banking and UPI. NTA has not announced the NEET 2027 fees or opened payment. The steps below follow the 2026 process, and NEET UG registration fees are paid the same way.
Pay the NEET UG exam fees on the official NEET UG website, in the payment step of the application. Do not pay on any other site. For the NEET UG exam fees in 2026, payment stayed open until 11:50 PM on 11 March. The form closed at 9 PM. The NEET UG 2027 dates page will show the payment deadline once NTA announces it.
The NEET UG exam fees are only the first cost. The NEET application fee is small next to later costs. Counselling fees, security deposits, an OMR view and MBBS tuition come later, and each has its own rule.
| Stage | Cost in 2026 | Note |
|---|---|---|
| NEET UG application fee | ₹1,000 to ₹1,700 | Plus processing charges and GST |
| Answer key challenge | ₹200 per question | Refundable if accepted in 2026 |
| OMR sheet view | ₹200 | Non-refundable |
| MCC registration | ₹500 to ₹5,000 | Non-refundable |
| MCC security deposit | ₹5,000 to ₹2,00,000 | Refundable unless forfeited |
After the NEET application fee, you pay the MCC counselling fee and a security deposit. Beyond the NEET fee structure, each stage has its own charge. State counselling charges its own fees. Then you pay the college fee, which is separate from the NEET UG exam fees, plus hostel and mess where the college charges them separately. Travel to the exam centre and to reporting at the college is your own cost.
The answer key challenge fee and the OMR view fee are optional, unlike the NEET UG exam fees. You pay them only if you want to challenge a key or see your response sheet.
The official NEET UG website (neet.nta.nic.in) will publish the 2027 fee in the Information Bulletin. MCC publishes counselling fees on mcc.nic.in.
