A foundation year is not a punishment, and plenty of strong students choose it deliberately. It is taught inside the same university and counts toward the same degree. It also gives a 17-year-old a softer landing in a new country.

Read the branch campus rows carefully. QS ranks the parent university, not the Malaysian campus. The number describes the degree you receive, not the local site.

That still matters, because the certificate says Monash, Nottingham or Southampton with no mention of the campus.

The English rule surprises most families who plan to study in Malaysia from India, and it works in your favour. If your school taught in English, many universities accept a Medium of Instruction letter instead of a test score. CBSE, ICSE and most state English-medium schools qualify.
