This is a two-year postgraduate degree progra designed to provide basic and applied knowledge with skills in the production of fruit crops including in-depth knowledge of fruit biology, reproduction biology, fruit breeding, biotechnology, biodiversity conservation, pre post-harvest management, organic production and GAP in fruit cultivation. This program helps to familiarize yourself with horticulture as a major and learn biology and chemistry that serves as a base for all future coursework. The Horticulture Club is a professional organization for students interested in horticulture. Academic Support provides several free resources to improve academic performance, including Study Partners, Supplemental Instruction and academic coaching. Students should assigned academic advisor each semester to discuss their major and academic plan. In addition to obtaining a job with an undergraduate degree in horticulture, the major provides an excellent background for graduate study in the field of plant sciences. Areas of graduate study include plant breeding and plant genetics, horticulture, agronomy, plant pathology, or other related fields such as biology, environmental science, natural resource management, agroecology, and genetics.
