EMAT Exam Answer Key

Do not wait for an EMAT exam answer key after the test. IIM Kozhikode (IIMK) has published none, and no response sheet or challenge window either. EMAT stands for Executive Management Aptitude Test. It is the entrance test for the MBA for Working Executives (earlier called EPGP) at IIM Kozhikode. The admission policy says IIMK designs and evaluates the test itself.

An answer key is a list of the correct options for a paper. A response sheet is a copy of the answers you marked. A public EMAT exam answer key does not exist, so each section below covers what is really available. The test format is on the EMAT exam pattern page. The EMAT exam answer key is not published, and IIMK evaluates the test internally. This is true for both programmes that use EMAT, EPGP-IL and EPGP Kochi.

Does IIMK release an EMAT answer key?

No. IIMK has published no EMAT answer key on its EPGP-IL or EPGP Kochi pages. The EPGP-IL admission policy says: "The test will be designed and evaluated by IIMK." It describes no key. It also names no response sheet and no objection stage. The four official sample papers also carry no key. The EMAT exam answer key is therefore not part of the IIMK process as published. Applicants who search for an EMAT 2027 answer key will find no official file.

What does IIMK use instead of an answer key?

IIMK uses the EMAT score against a cut-off, and then the Personal Interview. A candidate who meets the cut-off is eligible for the interview. The merit list then adds the test score at 40% weightage and the interview at 60%. IIMK tells you about each step directly. The EMAT cutoff page lists the cut-off percentage for each category.

IIMK has announced no EMAT exam answer key release date for 2026 or for 2027. There is no date because there is no key. The dates that do exist are the EMAT dates, the interview dates and the offer dates of each phase.

When will the EMAT answer key be released?

IIMK has set no date for it. The EMAT 2027 answer key cannot appear before IIMK announces a 2027 cycle. No IIMK document has promised a key even then. The EPGP Kochi page says admissions for 2027-2029 will start soon. It gives no dates and no test details.

You cannot download an EMAT exam answer key from the IIMK website. The IIMK admission portal for EPGP-IL is used for registration and login by one-time password, not for answer keys.

How can I check my EMAT answers?

You cannot check them against an official EMAT exam answer key, so build your own check from the sample papers. Follow these steps during your preparation.

1. Download the four official sample papers from the EMAT question papers page.
2. Solve each paper in one sitting and mark the questions you guessed.
3. Re-solve every guessed question with a second method.
4. Put numerical answers back into the question to test them.
5. Compare the doubtful questions with a colleague or mentor who knows CAT, GMAT or GRE questions.

IIMK says EMAT is broadly similar to typical management admission tests such as CAT and GMAT. Practice material for those tests can help you check your method. It cannot tell you the EMAT marks.

IIMK publishes neither an EMAT exam answer key nor a response sheet. The table shows what each document would normally hold and what IIMK has published.

Without these documents, you cannot match your answers to an EMAT exam answer key after the test. The only score rule that IIMK states is the cut-off, which is a percentage of total marks. IIMK has published no process to challenge an EMAT exam answer key or any EMAT answer. No EMAT 2027 answer key means no objection stage in 2027 either. There is no challenge window, no fee and no objection form on the pages checked.

Can I challenge an EMAT answer?

No process for it is published. If you believe a question was wrong or unclear, write to the admission office at epgpadmission@iimk.ac.in. The EPGP-IL contact page also lists phone numbers. IIMK does not promise a reply on the question or a change in marks. The admission policy says IIMK reserves the right to change the admission process and cut-off scores at its discretion.

A challenge fee is not published either. Do not pay any person who offers to raise an EMAT objection for you.

You cannot calculate an official EMAT score using an answer key. IIMK has not published the marks per question or the total marks. It has published the cut-off as a percentage of total marks only.

The cut-off for EPGP-IL batch 19 (2026-28) is 35% of total marks for General candidates. The other categories have lower percentages, listed on the EMAT cutoff page.

How can I estimate my EMAT score from practice?

Count the correct answers and divide by the number of questions. This gives a rough check in place of an EMAT 2027 answer key. Then multiply by 100 to get a practice percentage. This works only if every question carries equal marks, which IIMK has not stated.

On the 40-question EPGP-IL sample paper, 14 correct answers equal 35%. Use this as a practice benchmark only. IIMK does not say that the live test has 40 questions.

Is there negative marking in EMAT?

IIMK has not published negative marking for EPGP-IL. The EPGP Kochi FAQ says there are no negative marks for wrong answers. That statement is for Kochi only, so do not apply it to the IL test.
