St. Charles Community College (SCC) is a public, comprehensive two-year community college offering a wide variety of transfer opportunities, associate degrees and certificate programs in the arts, business, sciences and career-technical fields.
St. Charles is also believing in putting the community in “community college.” St. Charles provide workforce training and community-based personal and professional development as well as cultural, recreational and entertainment opportunities to the surrounding St. Charles community. There’s always something going on campus!
SCC maintains an open-admissions policy providing higher education to all persons who can benefit from its programs and courses. Once admitted to SCC, Students may enrol in any course or program as long as individual course prerequisites are met and space for effective instruction is available.
The college may guide the student’s enrollment based on their Academic Skills Assessments, interviews, previous achievements and other criteria. If they do not meet the standards for admission into college-level courses, students may enrol in credit or non-credit developmental courses designed to help strengthen their skills. Students applying for the programs with selective admissions criteria may be required to take additional tests for admissions purposes.
Before students register for credit courses, they must be admitted to the college. They may apply for admission anytime during the year
