Bachelor of Arts - BA in Philosophy Moravian University

The Philosophy Department offers a minor and major in philosophy and an Ethics Minor and Ethics Certificate. Many of our students work toward a double major. Philosophy and Ethics are excellent majors and minors, respectively, for students in Health Science, Business, Nursing, Education, and Public Health. The major in philosophy consists of nine-course units ?in philosophy?. Only one 100-level course will count towards the major. ? Students must take at least two 300-level courses and one Writing Intensive course. One of the ?nine philosophy courses may come from a related program subject to approval by the chair of the philosophy department. The minor in philosophy consists of five-course units in philosophy. Only one 100-level course will count towards the minor. Students must take at least one 300-level course.

Moravian College, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was established in 1742, making it one of the oldest higher education institutions in the United States. The Department of Nursing pre-licensure undergraduate programs (i.e., traditional BSN and accelerated post baccalaureate BSN) and the graduate nurse practitioner programs (i.e., adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner and adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner) are approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing (PA SBON). All nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Moravian Theological Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.
