California Lutheran University (CLU) is a private liberal arts university located in Thousand Oaks, California. Established in 1959, the university is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, but its mission is rooted in the Lutheran tradition of scholar-focused inquiry, which encourages questions, fosters openness, and promotes individual and collective understanding within a diverse and inclusive environment.
