Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) - (conversion) The University of Law Reading

The Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) at the University of Law (Reading) is designed for students who did not study law at undergraduate level but wish to become a solicitor or barrister. This conversion course equips students with the legal knowledge and skills necessary for entering these professions. The program spans one year of full-time study or two years part-time, during which students gain foundational understanding of essential areas of law, including contract, criminal and constitutional law, among others. Students also develop advanced skills in legal research, analysis and communication. The University of Law is known for its focus on professional practice, therefore, students are prepared not just theoretically, but also with a practical understanding of the UK legal system.

Reading campus, based at The University of Reading’s London Road campus, just a short walk from both Whiteknights campus and the bustling town centre, and is a peaceful setting of traditional cloisters and green spaces. A historic site – and one of the University of Reading’s original campuses, it has two on-site cafes, including The Dairy – a place to eat, drink, play pool, and watch sporting events. You will also find dedicated practice rooms for musicians as well as the magnificent Grade 2 listed Great Hall.
