The Master of Science in Computer Science - Software Technology is a two year program at Linnaeus University. This program aims to give students an understanding of software technology – how you deliver a secure and robust software able to cope with changes in the environment in which it operates. The focus is on new methods, tools and paradigms that express and allow practical solutions to developing, managing, and changing software systems. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical training in computer based systems and offers insight into industrial systems’ construction and operation. It emphasizes the application of systematic and structured methods to design and analysis, including requirements engineering, system modeling and specification, software design, verification and validation, implementation, software quality, project management and maintenance. Upon completion of the program, students will have deep knowledge of software technology, enough to be able to take a leading role in the development of new software systems. They will be prepared for a career in areas such as industry, which demands deep knowledge and skills in software systems engineering, system programming, and software technology. Students will also have the ability to carry out research in these areas and can continue their studies towards a Ph.D. in computer science.
