The Diploma in Business Operations Management program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is designed to provide students with the skills they need to manage the operations of a business effectively. This program combines theory with practical application to prepare students for a variety of operational roles within a business.
The Business Operations Management program at BCIT covers a broad range of topics including project management, supply chain management, procurement and sourcing, process analysis and improvement, and managing for quality.
Among many things, students learn how to design operations and manage the efficient flow of material in order to function in the operations position within an organization. This is a two-year, full-time program that offers a combination of lectures, workshops, labs, and field trips to give students a comprehensive understanding of the subject.
Professional skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership are also honed throughout the course. Upon graduation students will be fully equipped to manage the planning, organization, direction, control, and evaluation functions of the business operations.
