The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice in Mechanical and Mechatronics program at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is an innovative course designed to meet the current demands of the engineering sector. It combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills in mechanical and mechatronics engineering.
Students enroll in subjects that focus on systems design and engineering, thermodynamics, materials, fluid mechanics, control, and data analysis in the mechanical engineering curriculum. In the mechatronics curriculum, they learn about robotics, electronics and computer systems, digital signal processing, and artificial intelligence.
The program also includes two six-month internships with an engineering practice diploma. Students gain industry experience which is highly valued by potential employers. The internships also allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world context, enhancing their understanding of mechanical and mechatronics engineering principles.
On completion of this program, students graduate with two qualifications: a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice. It prepares them well for a diverse range of careers in areas such as robotics, automotive design, and aerospace engineering.
