Monash University's Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) program is a four-year degree that prepares students for professional physiotherapy practice. This program takes students beyond traditional physiotherapy study, emphasizing the advancement of clinical competence, analytical thinking, and independent research skills.
Integrated into the program is a research component equivalent to honors specialization, which is carried out over a couple of years, providing students with in-depth insights into research in physiotherapy, cultivating the skills to drive advancements in healthcare practices.
Students will acquire hands-on clinical experience early on in the program and are exposed to working with various patients, learning skills related to primary care and preventive healthcare, chronic disease management, aged care, mental health, and other related areas.
The curriculum is designed to be deeply embedded in healthcare contexts and consists of a balance between coursework, clinical skills development, and research. On completing the program, graduates are eligible for professional registration with Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
