Prior to developing this course, the only way to obtain a qualification of this kind was to go to university. People study this course for many reasons – passion for the environment, wanting to acquire hands-on skills so they can assist with restoring and conserving our marine habitats, obtaining a qualification which will make a real difference. Studying MHCR entails learning theory which you then put into practice in the field. In the field means going to marine habitats to apply hands-on skills related to restoring and conserving, eg: Seagrass, Sand Dunes, Rocky Shores, Mangroves. The skills are applied on the land and in the water, so you can expect to get wet!
