The Consortium of NLUs has published eight CLAT 2026 question booklets: four UG sets and four PG sets. All eight sit in one notification dated 10 December 2025. These are the official **CLAT exa**m question papers for the exam held on 7 December 2025. As of 13 October 2026, the CLAT 2027 website lists no previous-year paper, sample paper or mock test. The exam is on 6 December 2026, so no CLAT question paper 2027 exists yet.
Candidates can practise with the official CLAT exam question papers of 2026 before the 6 December 2026 exam.
The CLAT 2026 booklets are the official previous papers on the Consortium's website. They are the CLAT exam question papers to practise with before 6 December 2026. On 18 July 2026, the Governing Body decided that CLAT 2027 keeps the syllabus and the sections. The CLAT question paper pattern stays the same too. The Consortium will also consider the Expert Committee's suggestions on question format and quality "in a feasible manner".

The Consortium has published four UG booklets and four PG booklets as CLAT previous year papers for 2026. The CLAT 2027 pages do not list any paper from earlier years. Start with these CLAT exam question papers, because their set letters and question numbers match the official final answer key.
Older CLAT exam question papers with 200 or 150 questions help less for CLAT 2027. The UG paper now has 120 questions. Their question count differs from the CLAT 2027 paper, so their timing does not match either. The table shows how the UG count changed.
| Exam cycle | UG questions | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Before the CLAT 2020 change | 200 | As per third-party media sources |
| Years before CLAT 2024 | 150 | As per third-party media sources |
| CLAT 2024 | 120 | As per third-party media sources |
| CLAT 2026 and CLAT 2027 | 120 | Official CLAT 2026 booklets and CLAT 2027 UG question paper format |
The first three rows are not on the Consortium's current pages. For practice, pick CLAT exam question papers with 120 questions.
The CLAT question paper pattern for 2027 follows three rules in both the UG and PG CLAT exam question papers. Each correct answer earns 1 mark. Each wrong answer costs 0.25 mark. The exam is offline. In CLAT 2026, candidates marked answers on an OMR sheet.
120 multiple-choice questions, 120 marks, 2 hours. Five sections: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. The CLAT question paper UG is passage-based. English, Legal Reasoning and Logical Reasoning passages run to about 450 words.
The CLAT 2027 exam pattern page gives the full CLAT question paper pattern with section-wise ranges.

Save the file once, because it holds all the CLAT exam question papers of 2026 in one place.
No CLAT question paper 2027 exists before the exam on 6 December 2026. Publication of the CLAT 2027 booklets after the exam: Not officially announced as of 13 October 2026. In the CLAT 2026 cycle, the CLAT exam question papers came out on 10 December 2025. That was three days after the exam on 7 December 2025.
The ₹500 is a separate cost for previous years' question papers. The CLAT 2027 application fee of ₹4,000 or ₹3,500 does not include it (source: official CLAT 2027 UG instructions).
The instructions do not say which years these CLAT exam question papers cover or how they are delivered. The official CLAT exam question papers of CLAT 2026 are already on the Consortium's website. Check what the ₹500 adds before you pay. The fee tiers and form steps are on the CLAT 2027 registration page.
Yes, candidates may keep the question booklet and their copy of the OMR sheet. The CLAT 2026 booklet instructions state this. The CLAT 2027 booklet instructions are not published yet.
No, the CLAT 2027 examination is in offline mode. In CLAT 2026, the question papers were printed booklets, and candidates marked answers on an OMR sheet supplied with them. The CLAT 2026 booklet instructions call it a carbonised OMR Response Sheet. The CLAT 2027 answer sheet format: Not officially announced as of 13 October 2026.
Yes, eligible PwD candidates get 40 extra minutes. Their exam runs from 2:00 pm to 4:40 pm instead of 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
For the CLAT previous year papers of 2026, a CLAT question paper with solutions means the Consortium's answer keys. Each key lists the correct option for every question number. The provisional key came with the booklets on 10 December 2025. The final answer key followed on 16 December 2025.
The Consortium publishes a CLAT question paper with solutions only as answer keys. Each key lists the correct option for a question number and carries no written explanation. For UG, the provisional key in Appendix II of the 10 December 2025 notification stands as the final answer key. For PG, the final answer key is appended to the 16 December 2025 notification.
Keep the key and the paper together. A CLAT question paper with solutions helps only when the set letter matches. The dates, objection fee and steps from the CLAT 2026 cycle are on the CLAT 2027 answer key page.
The UG key did not change, and the PG key changed three answers. Both CLAT exam question papers were evaluated out of 119 marks.
| Paper | Final key outcome | Marks counted |
|---|---|---|
| UG | No change to the provisional key. One question withdrawn. | 119 |
| PG | Three answers modified. One question withdrawn in the provisional key. | 119 |
Candidates who marked option C or D on the first modified PG question received 1 mark.
Yes, the Consortium published the PG half of the CLAT exam question papers for 2026. These are four booklets in Appendix III of the 10 December 2025 notification. The CLAT question paper PG has 120 questions of one mark each and deducts 0.25 mark for each wrong answer. It is one objective section, so there are no separate sections to time. Its questions are passage-based, with extracts from court decisions, statutes or regulations.
The CLAT question paper 2026 for UG had 120 questions, split 24, 28, 30, 26 and 12 across five sections. This table compares the CLAT exam question papers of 2026 with the approximate CLAT 2027 ranges. These ranges describe the CLAT question paper UG for 2027.
| Section | CLAT 2027 approximate range | CLAT 2026 paper |
|---|---|---|
| English Language | 22-26 questions | 24 |
| Current Affairs including General Knowledge | 28-32 questions | 28 |
| Legal Reasoning | 28-32 questions | 30 |
| Logical Reasoning | 22-26 questions | 26 |
| Quantitative Techniques | 10-14 questions | 12 |
The CLAT 2026 booklet calls the last section "Quantitative Aptitude" in its contents table. The official pattern pages use "Quantitative Techniques". The CLAT 2027 counts will be known only after the exam. English Language, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning and Logical Reasoning use passages of up to about 450 words. Quantitative Techniques uses short sets of facts or numerical information. This CLAT question paper pattern is the UG one, and the PG paper has one objective section.
The CLAT 2026 exam was held on 7 December 2025, and the final key came out on 16 December 2025. The timeline shows each step in between. The CLAT question paper 2026 reached candidates three days after the exam, on 10 December 2025.

The CLAT question paper UG of 2026 had 120 multiple-choice questions on 40 pages. Two of those pages were blank, for rough work. The PG booklet ran to 48 pages with the same two blank pages. The Consortium supplied no extra sheet for rough work. Candidates marked answers on a separate OMR sheet. These CLAT exam question papers show the exam layout in full.
The Consortium publishes the booklet sets of the CLAT exam question papers inside one CLAT previous year question paper PDF. It does not publish separate files for each set. CLAT 2026 had four booklet sets, A to D, for UG and four for PG. A symbol printed on the booklet cover identifies the series. Choose one set from the CLAT question paper 2026 and ignore the rest while you time yourself.
Your set is the series printed on your booklet cover, and the booklet sets number the same question differently. The withdrawn UG question in the CLAT question paper 2026 shows this. It was Question 100 in Set A and Question 46 in Set B. It was Question 18 in Set C and Question 60 in Set D.
The key of the CLAT question paper PG shows the same pattern. The three modified answers sit at different numbers in each set.
| Question numbers (Set A / B / C / D) | Provisional key | Final key |
|---|---|---|
| 26 / 76 / 111 / 61 | C | C and D |
| 31 / 81 / 116 / 66 | A | C |
| 111 / 41 / 6 / 76 | B | C |
Compare your answers only with the key of your own set. The Consortium said it would not respond to CLAT 2026 objections whose question numbers did not match the candidate's set. Use the same rule when you practise with the CLAT exam question papers of 2026.
As of 13 October 2026, the Consortium's website lists no CLAT sample paper or mock test for CLAT 2027. The CLAT 2027 notifications list has five entries. None of them carries CLAT exam question papers.
No official CLAT sample paper is listed for 2027. Not officially announced as of 13 October 2026. The CLAT 2026 UG syllabus page promised "Guides to the question paper and sample questions". It also promised "Model question papers". The CLAT 2027 UG and PG syllabus pages carry no such section. No CLAT sample paper is promised for 2027, and no CLAT question paper 2027 is listed either.
Treat the CLAT exam question papers of 2026 as your mock tests. A CLAT 2026 booklet has the same 120 questions and 2-hour limit that the CLAT question paper 2027 will have. These official previous papers fill the gap until the Consortium releases a CLAT sample paper. Print the CLAT previous year question paper PDF and pick one of the booklet sets. Mark answers on a separate sheet. Check them against the key of that set.
The Consortium posts notices in the Notifications panel on the CLAT 2027 home page. In CLAT 2026, the booklets came as appendices to a notification. So watch that panel for the CLAT question paper 2027. Treat a paper as an official CLAT sample paper only when the Consortium lists it there.
Solving the CLAT previous year papers of 2026 shows you the CLAT 2027 sections inside a real booklet. The CLAT question paper 2027 will have the same sections, because the Governing Body kept them unchanged. Each of the CLAT exam question papers also tests your speed against one 2-hour clock for all sections.
CLAT previous year question papers show passage length, section order and timing in a real booklet. Three official facts make this useful:
The CLAT 2027 syllabus lists the topics behind each section, which helps you sort the mistakes you find.
In the CLAT exam question papers, each wrong answer costs 0.25 mark, so four wrong answers cancel one correct answer. Unanswered questions carry no deduction. A CLAT question paper with solutions lets you count your wrong answers exactly.
An example: 100 questions attempted, 80 right and 20 wrong. The 20 wrong answers cost 5 marks, so the score is 80 minus 5, which is 75. This example is an illustration, not an official figure.
Solve the CLAT question paper 2026 of your programme first. Sit for 2 hours at a stretch and mark answers on a separate sheet. The CLAT question paper pattern is unchanged for 2027. This sitting copies the CLAT 2026 exam, where the booklet and the OMR sheet were separate. Use these steps for every sitting with the CLAT exam question papers.
UG candidates should solve the CLAT question paper UG first. PG candidates should solve the CLAT question paper PG first. Both CLAT exam question papers have 120 questions, so both fit a 2-hour sitting. Move to older CLAT previous year papers with other question counts only after you finish these official previous papers.
Plan for an average of 1 minute per question. The CLAT exam question papers have 120 questions in 120 minutes. Passage-based questions need reading time first, so the first question on a passage takes longer than 1 minute. The Consortium publishes no time limit for any section, so you decide the order in which you attempt them. Keep the same order in every mock sitting, so that you can compare results.
Score equals correct answers minus 0.25 for each wrong answer in the CLAT exam question papers. Use the key from a CLAT question paper with solutions to count right and wrong answers. In 2026, 119 questions counted on both the CLAT question paper UG and the CLAT question paper PG.
An example: 70 right, 15 wrong and 34 unanswered make 119 questions. The 15 wrong answers cost 3.75 marks. The score is 70 minus 3.75, which is 66.25 out of 119. This example is an illustration, not an official figure.
After each of the CLAT exam question papers, list each wrong answer under its section. Then compare your misses with the size of that section. In the CLAT 2027 pattern, Current Affairs including General Knowledge and Legal Reasoning carry 28-32 questions each. Quantitative Techniques carries 10-14. A weak Legal Reasoning section therefore costs more marks than a weak Quantitative Techniques section.
