CLAT 2027 Exam Date: Schedule & Important Dates

The CLAT exam date is Sunday, 6 December 2026. The application form closes earlier, on 31 October 2026 at 11:59 pm. From 13 October 2026, candidates have 18 days to submit the form and pay the fee. The Consortium does not allow updates to the form after the closing date.

The Consortium of National Law Universities has fixed three dates for CLAT 2027. These are registration opening, registration closing and the CLAT exam date 2027. It has announced no CLAT admit card date, CLAT answer key date, CLAT result date or CLAT counselling dates. For those four stages, the sections below give the CLAT 2026 dates as last-cycle facts.

Three CLAT 2027 dates are official. Registration opened on 3 August 2026 and closes on 31 October 2026. The CLAT 2027 exam date is 6 December 2026. The Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the Consortium fixed the CLAT exam date on 18 July 2026. The Consortium announced the decision in a press release on 22 July 2026.

Is the CLAT 2027 exam date confirmed or tentative?

The Consortium has confirmed the CLAT exam date 2027 as Sunday, 6 December 2026. It did so in the press release of 22 July 2026. The UG and PG instruction pages repeat the CLAT exam date. They add the words "Subject to revision in case of necessity". The Consortium has announced no revision to any CLAT date as of 13 October 2026. The other four stages differ, because they have no announced date.

Is CLAT held twice a year?

The Consortium has announced one CLAT date for 2027, which is 6 December 2026, for both UG and PG. The press release names a single date. The Consortium has announced no second sitting.

The CLAT 2027 application window opened on 3 August 2026 and closes on 31 October 2026. UG and PG candidates use the same window. The window closes 36 days before the CLAT exam date.

What is the CLAT 2027 registration last date?

The Consortium has announced no extension of the CLAT 2027 registration last date as of 13 October 2026. In the CLAT 2026 cycle, the Executive Council extended the last date. The new date was 11:59 pm on 7 November 2025, against the original 31 October 2025. This extension is reported as per third-party media sources and belongs to CLAT 2026. Can you edit the CLAT 2027 form after the last date?

The Consortium does not allow updates to the CLAT 2027 form after the CLAT 2027 registration last date. It has announced no correction window. Candidates can edit the form only while registration is open. They use the "Edit Application Form" button in their CLAT account. The Consortium has asked for two kinds of updates before 31 October 2026:

• Test centre preference: The Consortium removed Vellore and Tiruvarur as test centre cities in a notification dated 3 September 2026. Candidates who had opted for either city must change their preference.
• Reservation category: WBNUJS removed OBC-A and OBC-B of West Bengal and added OBC of West Bengal. NLU Meghalaya added Khasi & Jaintia, Garo and other SC/ST categories of Meghalaya. Both notifications are dated 5 September 2026. Affected candidates must update their reservation by 31 October 2026.

The Consortium has announced no CLAT admit card date for 2027. Not officially announced as of 13 October 2026. Candidates will download the admit card by logging in to their CLAT account.

The CLAT 2026 notifications list on the Consortium website was empty on 13 October 2026. The CLAT 2026 admit card notice therefore could not be read. No official CLAT 2026 admit card date is available to use as a gap.

When will the CLAT 2027 admit card be released?

The Consortium says it will intimate the exact CLAT admit card date on its website. The Notifications list on the official CLAT 2027 site had no admit card item on 13 October 2026. The UG instructions advise candidates to visit the CLAT 2027 website regularly for updates. Check the list often until the CLAT exam date of 6 December 2026.

What should you check before the CLAT admit card is released?

Check four things in your CLAT account before the Consortium announces the CLAT admit card date:

• Login: Keep your registered mobile number and password ready. The admit card is downloaded from the account.
• Test centre preferences: The form asks for three preferences, and all three are mandatory. The Consortium may change the centre list based on the number of applications. It will notify candidates whose preferences change.
• Names: Spell the candidate's name and the parents' names as they appear in the certificates, mark sheets and identity proof.
• Reporting time: Not officially announced as of 13 October 2026. Plan to reach the test centre early on exam day.

CLAT 2027 starts at 2:00 pm on Sunday, 6 December 2026, and ends at 4:00 pm. The Consortium has not announced the reporting time. UG and PG candidates write the test on the same CLAT exam date, in a single shift. The CLAT 2027 schedule and timings are the same for both programmes.

What time is the CLAT 2027 exam, and is it different for PwD candidates?

The CLAT 2027 exam date carries one standard timing: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, which is 2 hours. Eligible PwD candidates write from 2:00 pm to 4:40 pm on the same CLAT exam date.

The Consortium issued its PwD policy for CLAT 2027 on 7 September 2026. The policy applies on the CLAT exam date. Candidates who need a scribe must say so in the application form. They must also upload a valid UDID card or a disability certificate.

Is the CLAT 2027 exam online or offline?

CLAT 2027 is an offline exam. The UG instructions say the examination "shall be in OFFLINE mode". Only the application is online. Candidates write the paper at a test centre on exam day.

AILET 2027 is on Sunday, 13 December 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. That is one week after the CLAT 2027 exam date, so the two tests do not clash. Both tests fall on a Sunday. National Law University Delhi conducts AILET. It admits through AILET and not through CLAT. The AILET 2027 online application closes on 10 November 2026. That last date is for candidates other than foreign nationals and OCI or PIO candidates.

When will the CLAT 2027 answer key be released?

The CLAT answer key date for 2027 has only one official guide, which is the CLAT 2026 cycle. The Consortium announced the CLAT 2026 provisional answer key time in its press release of 7 December 2025. That was also the CLAT exam date of the 2026 cycle.

The Consortium's notification of 10 December 2025 carried the CLAT 2026 provisional answer key for UG and PG.

How long was the CLAT 2026 objection window?

The CLAT 2026 objection window lasted two days. It opened at 5:00 pm on 10 December 2025, three days after the CLAT exam date. It closed at 5:00 pm on 12 December 2025. The fee was ₹500 per objection. The Consortium refunded the fee if the objection was valid and sustained. Candidates filed objections only through the portal. The Consortium did not entertain objections sent by email, support ticket or phone call.

The objection form asked for the booklet set, the type of objection and the question number. Keep the question booklet and your copy of the OMR response sheet. The CLAT 2026 booklet instructions allowed candidates to retain both after the test.

What did the CLAT 2026 final answer key change?

The Consortium released the CLAT 2026 final answer key on 16 December 2025. For UG, it made no change to the provisional key. For PG, it changed the answers to three questions. One question was withdrawn in each paper. Both papers were therefore evaluated out of 119 marks.

When will the CLAT 2027 result be declared?

The CLAT result date is not in the press release, instruction pages, FAQs or Notifications list. The CLAT 2026 result notification is dated 16 December 2025. It said the Consortium tabulated and verified the scores on 14 and 15 December 2025. The Governing Body approved them on 16 December 2025. The final answer key and the result carry the same date.

How do candidates check the CLAT result when it is out?

Candidates download the scorecard after the Consortium declares the result. For CLAT 2026, the Consortium said candidates could "download their official CLAT 2026 scorecards by logging into their account on the CLAT 2026 portal". What happened right after the CLAT 2026 result?

The CLAT 2026 result notification promised admission and counselling details at 8:00 pm on 16 December 2025. Counselling registration opened at 6:00 pm on 17 December 2025. That was one day after the result. Check the Notifications list on the day the CLAT 2027 result is out.

The Consortium has announced no CLAT counselling dates for 2027. Not officially announced as of 13 October 2026. The official FAQ gives only a month range: "In the month of December 2026/January, 2027".

When does CLAT 2027 counselling start?

The Consortium has published no start date for CLAT 2027 counselling, no round dates and no fee dates. The FAQ range is a general statement and not a schedule. The First Provisional Allotment List page on the CLAT 2027 site carries template text, and the pages for the second to fifth lists do not open. None of them counts as an announcement. What were the CLAT 2026 counselling dates?

The CLAT 2026 counselling instructions of 17 December 2025 scheduled five rounds, and the table shows those scheduled dates. As per third-party media sources, the Consortium later moved the third, fourth and fifth allotment lists. Counselling registration ran from 6:00 pm on 17 December 2025 to 10:00 pm on 27 December 2025. Each allotment list had a confirmation fee window. Rounds 1 to 4 allowed the Freeze and Float options, and round 5 allowed Freeze only.

The Consortium published these dates in its CLAT 2026 counselling instructions. The instructions also set two university fee deadlines at the NLU concerned. For seats frozen in rounds 1 to 3, payment was due by 5:00 pm on 24 April 2026. For seats frozen in rounds 4 and 5, payment was due by 5:00 pm on 30 May 2026.

How long did the CLAT 2026 admission process run?

The CLAT 2026 admission process was scheduled to run for 174 days. It started with the CLAT exam date of 7 December 2025. It ended with the last university fee deadline on 30 May 2026. The third list was scheduled for 5 February 2026 and the fourth for 2 May 2026. That scheduled gap was 86 days. Families should plan the fee payments across both university fee deadlines.
