Mercy College is dedicated to making a high-quality education attainable by offering more than 90 undergraduate and graduate programs within its five schools: Business, Education, Health and Natural Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Social and Behavioral Sciences.

The New York metropolitan area college of nearly 11,000 students has four campus locations, including Dobbs Ferry, Bronx, Manhattan, and Yorktown Heights. It offers more than 25 degree programs online.

Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1950, Mercy College became a four-year college offering programs leading to the baccalaureate degree in 1961. The Middle States Association’s Commission on Higher Education accredited the College in 1968.

Mercy College boldly set a course for its future with a series of actions, including declaring itself independent, nonsectarian, and coeducational in the next half-decade. In addition, it doubled the size of the existing physical plant and initiated the first of many community outreach efforts.
