Economics and Politics BSc

The Economics and Politics BSc program at the University of Exeter is a comprehensive course that aims to equip students with a thorough understanding of the interrelationship between economics and politics in contemporary world affairs. It combines the expertise of the Department of Politics and International Relations with the Business School, offering a broad education in areas such as international economics, public economics, political theory, international relations, and comparative politics. The program usually lasts three years in full-time mode and may extend when opted for a 'with Study Abroad' variant. First year provides a foundation in economics & politics, integrating theory and practice. Second year offers a deeper dive into micro and macroeconomics, quantitative methods and political theory. The third year features both a dissertation and further advanced topics or issues in politics and economics such as policy application, international trade and finance. Being a part of the Q-Step Centre, the course emphasizes on the development of quantitative skills, alongside training in qualitative and theoretical analysis. Students graduate with a wide skill set that includes research techniques, economic analysis, critical reasoning, and articulate communication skills. Seniors may also have the opportunity to apply for internships and a fully-funded scholarship to attend summer school at top global universities.
