LIBA gives scholarships on a merit-cum-means basis and names the Jesuit Empowerment Scholarship in its AICTE mandatory disclosure (). It also lists corporate tie-ups with Bharti Foundations, Hyundai Motors India Limited and Palaniswamy Trust. LIBA does not print an award amount, an income limit or a deadline.
The largest reduction on record is full tuition fee reimbursement, and LIBA's NIRF 2026 data report shows it for 49 students (). The NIRF 2025 filing showed 98 students ().
The total programme fee is ₹18,89,700, and the tuition part of it is ₹14,46,900. Full tuition reimbursement is the difference between an affordable degree and a very expensive one. So the money is real. What is missing is the rule that decides who gets it. See the LIBA Chennai college overview for the full fee, placement and ranking picture.
LIBA's NIRF 2026 data report shows, for its two-year PG programmes:
The group NIRF counts here is economically backward and socially challenged students. LIBA reported 23 economically backward students and 151 socially challenged students, which is 174 in total. Of those 174, 49 received full tuition reimbursement from LIBA's own funds.
LIBA has not published a form, a cut-off or a date for it. LIBA's student manual says the merit cum need based scholarship is awarded by the management on first-year performance.
What you can do is ask. Write to admissions@liba.edu during the admission process. State your category and financial position, and ask in writing what fee assistance LIBA offers. Keep the reply. The LIBA fee structure shows exactly what you would be trying to reduce.
There are three things that could reduce what a LIBA PGDM costs you. LIBA documents the first two. None of them is a scheme you can apply to online today.
LIBA's AICTE mandatory disclosure names the Jesuit Empowerment Scholarship and says scholarships go to students on a merit-cum-means basis. LIBA's NIRF 2026 data report shows 49 students receiving full tuition fee reimbursement from institution funds, drawn from a reported group of 23 economically backward and 151 socially challenged students. The NIRF 2025 filing showed 98 students and the NIRF 2024 filing showed 5. LIBA prints no award amount, income limit or deadline. LIBA's AICTE mandatory disclosure says LIBA has tie-ups with corporates such as Bharti Foundations, Hyundai Motors India Limited and Palaniswamy Trust, which offer scholarships to eligible students. LIBA does not print the amounts or the eligible batches. LIBA's NIRF 2026 and NIRF 2025 data report zero students receiving full tuition reimbursement from private bodies. LIBA's NIRF 2026 and NIRF 2025 data report zero students receiving full tuition fee reimbursement from state or central government. That does not mean government schemes are unavailable to you. It means LIBA did not report any student receiving one. Central and state schemes for postgraduate students are applied for directly through the relevant government portal, not through LIBA. Being clear about the gaps is more useful than padding the list.
LIBA publishes no income limit, minimum percentile, minimum CGPA or category cut-off for its scholarships. It does print two signals. The AICTE mandatory disclosure says scholarships are awarded on a merit-cum-means basis. The student manual says preference goes to first-generation graduates, migrants, economically backward and Dalit families.
NIRF adds an indirect signal. The 49 students who received full tuition reimbursement in the NIRF 2026 data report sat within two NIRF categories. Those are economically backward students and socially challenged students. The second group covers SC, ST and OBC candidates.
That tells you who LIBA supported. It does not tell you the threshold LIBA applied, and it is not a rule you can test yourself against. Do not treat it as one.
LIBA does not publish a separate scholarship application form. Its admissions portal has no scholarship section and no separate scholarship application route.
| Step | What to do | When |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Apply to the PGDM normally through the LIBA admissions portal and pay the ₹2,000 application fee | Registration opened August 2026 |
| 2 | Write to admissions@liba.edu asking, in writing, what fee assistance exists for your category and circumstances | Before the selection rounds |
| 3 | Keep the written reply, including any amount, condition or deadline named in it | Immediately |
| 4 | Raise it again at the interview stage if you are shortlisted | February to March 2027 |
| 5 | Get any award confirmed in the admission letter before paying the first-year fee | Before the first payment |
Raise it at the right stage of the LIBA admission process. There is no separate scholarship track to apply through.
Get any fee assistance in writing before you pay
Terms I to III of the LIBA PGDM add to ₹9,78,800, and LIBA collects ₹20,000 in refundable deposits along with the first-year fee. LIBA refunds the fee, minus ₹1,000, if you withdraw before the last date of admission, and its student manual says no fee other than the caution deposit is refundable. Confirm any promised waiver in the admission letter before that payment leaves your account.
Separately, central and state government postgraduate scholarship schemes are applied for on the relevant government portal, not through LIBA. LIBA reported no student receiving a government full-tuition reimbursement in its NIRF 2026 and NIRF 2025 data. Do not assume LIBA will process one for you.
LIBA publishes no scholarship document checklist. The table below lists what need-based or category-based fee assistance normally requires. Have it ready when you write to admissions@liba.edu.
| Document | What it proves | Published by LIBA? |
|---|---|---|
| Family income certificate | Financial need | No |
| Community or caste certificate | Category status for SC, ST or OBC | No |
| Class 10, Class 12 and graduation marksheets | Academic record, already required for admission | Yes, for admission |
| CAT 2026 or XAT 2027 scorecard | Entrance performance, already required for admission | Yes, for admission |
| Bank account details | Where a reimbursement would be paid | No |
| LIBA admission offer letter | That you hold a confirmed seat | Yes, issued on selection |
Treat every row marked "No" as a preparation list, not as LIBA's stated requirement. Ask LIBA which of these it actually wants before you spend time collecting them.
LIBA's student manual says the management awards the merit cum need based scholarship after the first year, and it can withdraw or deny it if conduct or performance falls short. LIBA does not name a committee, describe an assessment method or give a timeline. No appeal route is stated on its public pages either.
What the NIRF filings show is the outcome of whatever process LIBA runs internally. That outcome moved a great deal across three filings.
| NIRF edition | Students given full tuition reimbursement from institution funds |
|---|---|
| NIRF 2026 | 49 |
| NIRF 2025 | 98 |
| NIRF 2024 | 5 |

That is a very large change between consecutive filings, from 5 students to 98 and then to 49. LIBA has not published an explanation. Two readings are possible. LIBA may have changed how much institution-funded support it gives. Or the filings may have been completed against different reporting definitions. Neither can be confirmed from the documents, so neither is asserted here.
What it means for you is simple. Support at this scale existed in the latest filing, but it is not stable across years. Budget for the full fee of ₹18,89,700. Treat any waiver as a reduction you confirm in writing, not one you expect.

The NIRF 2024 filing reported 5 students reimbursed from institution funds, 34 in the reported categories receiving none, 10 economically backward students and 29 socially challenged students. The 49 figure sits against a reported PG student strength of 480 in the NIRF 2026 data report. LIBA does not publish the rupee value of the reimbursements, so the total amount written off cannot be stated.
Answers to what readers ask most often.
Yes, LIBA gives scholarships on a merit-cum-means basis and names the Jesuit Empowerment Scholarship in its AICTE mandatory disclosure. It also lists corporate tie-ups with Bharti Foundations, Hyundai Motors India Limited and Palaniswamy Trust. LIBA prints no award amount or deadline. Data Sources: LIBA AICTE mandatory disclosure 2025-26 and admissions.liba.edu
The largest documented reduction is full tuition fee reimbursement, which LIBA's NIRF 2026 data report shows for 49 students. Against a total programme fee of ₹18,89,700, it would cover the tuition fee of ₹14,46,900. LIBA publishes no partial waiver scale, so no smaller band can be quoted. Data Sources: LIBA NIRF 2026 data report and LIBA Admission Policy 2026-28
LIBA awards scholarships on a merit-cum-means basis, with preference to first-generation graduates, migrants, economically backward and Dalit families. It prints no income limit, percentile or CGPA threshold. The 49 students reported in NIRF 2026 sat within the economically backward and socially challenged categories. Data Sources: LIBA AICTE mandatory disclosure 2025-26 and LIBA student manual
LIBA does not publish a separate scholarship application form, so the practical route is to write to admissions@liba.edu during the admission process and ask what fee assistance exists for your category. Keep the written reply and get any award confirmed in your admission letter before paying the first-year fee. Data Sources: admissions.liba.edu and LIBA student manual
