Applications for the LIBA full-time PGDM 2027-29 batch opened in August 2026. The selection rounds run February to March 2027 (LIBA PGDM admissions site). The gate is a valid CAT 2026 or XAT 2027 score.
LIBA has not published a closing date for applications on any of its official pages. Apply early rather than waiting for a deadline that has not been announced.
This is a private institute's own admission process, not a counselling round. LIBA is an AICTE-approved autonomous institute. It awards its own Post Graduate Diploma in Management. It does not take part in state or central counselling. So there is no seat allotment list and no round-wise closing rank.
That means LIBA decides who gets in, using its own shortlist and its own interview panel. Understanding that changes how you prepare. There is no allotment to wait for. There is an interview to clear.
Four things, in this order.
LIBA does not publish the numerical weighting it gives to each of these. That is a real gap, and it is covered honestly in the selection criteria section below.
| Stage | Date | Source |
|---|---|---|
| PGDM 2027-29 registration opens | August 2026 | study.liba.edu |
| CAT 2026 exam | Conducted by the IIMs, see the official CAT portal | iimcat.ac.in |
| XAT 2027 exam | Conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur, usually early January | Official XAT portal |
| LIBA selection process | February to March 2027 | study.liba.edu |
| Application closing date | Not published by LIBA | Not applicable |
| Result or offer date | Not published by LIBA | Not applicable |
| Fee payment deadline | Not published by LIBA | Not applicable |
LIBA has not published an application closing date
LIBA's admissions portal shows the PGDM 2027-29 route as open but names no last date to apply, no result date and no fee deadline. Register early and confirm your own deadline in writing with admissions@liba.edu.
Open the LIBA admissions portalOther LIBA routes run on their own cycles. The admissions portal shows the PGDM Weekend for 2026-28 and the Executive Diploma in Management for 2026-27. It also lists the Fellow Programme in Management for 2025-26.
For the full-time PGDM you need a minimum of 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and your undergraduate degree. Any discipline qualifies. The degree must be studied in regular mode at a university recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. You also need a valid CAT 2026 or XAT 2027 score.
Other LIBA programmes set the bar differently. The LIBA courses eligibility table lists all nine routes side by side.
LIBA accepts CAT 2026 and XAT 2027 for the full-time PGDM 2027-29 batch. It accepts the LIBA Admissions Test (LAT) only for Gulf, Foreign National and OCI applicants.
| Exam | Conducting body | Accepted for |
|---|---|---|
| CAT 2026 | Indian Institutes of Management | Full-time PGDM, all applicants |
| XAT 2027 | XLRI, Jamshedpur | Full-time PGDM, all applicants |
| LAT | LIBA | Gulf, Foreign National and OCI applicants only |
The next table shows what each exam adds.
| Exam | What it adds |
|---|---|
| CAT 2026 | Scored as a percentile across three sections |
| XAT 2027 | Adds a Decision Making section CAT does not have |
| LAT | LIBA's own test, for that category only |
LIBA's admissions portal lists CAT, XAT and LAT only. CMAT, GMAT and TANCET do not appear on it as accepted tests for the full-time PGDM. If you hold one of those scores, confirm with admissions@liba.edu before applying.
Not for every LIBA programme. The Online PGDM requires no entrance exam. The weekend PGDM uses LIBA's own entrance test and a personal interview rather than CAT or XAT. Only the full-time PGDM gates on CAT or XAT.
Step 1
Write CAT 2026 or XAT 2027
A valid score in either exam is the entry requirement for the full-time PGDM. Writing both widens your window.
Step 2
Open the LIBA admissions portal
Registration for the 2027-29 batch opened in August 2026 at admissions.liba.edu.
Step 3
Fill the online application
Enter your personal and academic details, including Class 10, Class 12 and graduation marks.
Step 4
Upload your documents
Marksheets and supporting documents are uploaded through the portal.
Step 5
Pay the ₹2,000 application fee
Paid online. The fee is not refundable, whatever the outcome.
Step 6
Shortlisting on your CAT or XAT score
LIBA shortlists candidates on the entrance exam score. It does not publish the threshold used.
February to March 2027
WAT, Group Discussion and Personal Interview
Shortlisted candidates attend a Written Ability Test, a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview.
After selection
Offer and fee payment
Selected candidates pay the annual fee through a virtual account number, along with ₹20,000 in refundable deposits. LIBA does not publish the payment deadline.
LIBA shortlists on the CAT or XAT score. It then runs a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Group Discussion (GD). A Personal Interview (PI) follows before it decides (LIBA PGDM admissions site).
LIBA does not publish the weighting it gives to any of these. It gives no percentage for the entrance score, for academics, for work experience or for the interview. That holds across its admissions portal, its PGDM site and its full-time brochure.
That is an unusual gap for a B-school of this rank, and it has a practical consequence. You cannot calculate your own composite score before you apply, and you cannot tell whether work experience helps you. Any weighting table you see attributed to LIBA on another site is that site's reconstruction, not LIBA's published policy.
What you can say from the published process is this. A test score alone does not decide the outcome, because three further stages sit after the shortlist. Prepare for the interview rounds as seriously as the exam.
LIBA runs its own shortlist. There is no central counselling, no seat allotment round and no waiting list published by a counselling authority.
| Stage | What happens | What LIBA publishes |
|---|---|---|
| Shortlist | LIBA shortlists on the CAT 2026 or XAT 2027 score | The fact that it shortlists on the score, not the threshold |
| Written Ability Test | A written exercise assessing how you argue in writing | That it is part of the process |
| Group Discussion | A panel-observed discussion round | That it is part of the process |
| Personal Interview | A one-to-one interview with a LIBA panel | That it is part of the process |
| Final offer | LIBA issues the admission offer directly | Not published: the date, the weighting, or the waiting-list rule |
The selection rounds run February to March 2027 for the 2027-29 batch. Block that window if you are applying, because LIBA has not published individual round dates within it.
LIBA's application asks you to submit marksheets and supporting documents through the portal. It does not publish a numbered document checklist on its public pages. So the list below is built from the eligibility conditions LIBA does state. Each item is tied to a rule it has to prove.
| Document | Why LIBA needs it |
|---|---|
| Class 10 marksheet | To verify the 60% minimum in Class 10 |
| Class 12 marksheet | To verify the 60% minimum in Class 12 |
| Graduation marksheets, all semesters or years | To verify the 60% minimum and the arrears record |
| Degree certificate or provisional certificate | To prove the degree is complete and from an AIU-recognised university |
| CAT 2026 or XAT 2027 scorecard | To prove a valid entrance exam score |
| Photo identity proof | Standard identity verification |
| Passport-size photograph | Standard application requirement |
| Work experience letters, if any | LIBA does not state how work experience is weighted, but the weekend PGDM requires proof of two years |
| Passport, OCI card or residence proof | Only for Gulf, Foreign National and OCI applicants |
Your arrears history is on your marksheets
LIBA disqualifies applicants with more than two arrears and prefers candidates who cleared all subjects on the first attempt. Semester-wise marksheets show this. Count your arrears before you pay the ₹2,000 application fee.
LIBA publishes no CAT or XAT percentile cutoff, for any year or any category. The only published threshold is the eligibility bar. It is a valid CAT 2026 or XAT 2027 score, plus 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation.
Clearing that bar gets your application read. It does not guarantee a shortlist, and a shortlist does not guarantee a seat. The LIBA cutoff page sets out the difference between these three thresholds and what actually moves selection.
LIBA does not publish a reservation policy on its official pages. No category-wise seat quota or reserved-category relaxation of the 60% bar appears on its admissions portal or brochure. No PwD provision appears either.
LIBA is a private, minority-managed institute rather than a government one. So the reservation pattern that applies to state and central institutions does not automatically apply here. LIBA does describe one category route separately. Gulf, Foreign National and OCI applicants may use the LIBA Admissions Test instead of CAT or XAT.
If you are applying under a reserved category, ask admissions@liba.edu in writing what applies to you. Keep the reply.
There is no direct admission route into the LIBA full-time PGDM. A valid CAT 2026 or XAT 2027 score is required from every applicant. The single exception is the Gulf, Foreign National and OCI category, which may use the LIBA Admissions Test instead.
Two other LIBA programmes do admit without a national entrance exam. They are genuinely different products, not a back door into the same one.
Anyone offering paid "direct admission" into the LIBA full-time PGDM is offering something LIBA does not publish. Check any such claim against LIBA's own admissions portal before paying anyone.
LIBA gives scholarships on a merit-cum-means basis and names the Jesuit Empowerment Scholarship in its AICTE mandatory disclosure. It publishes no application form, award amount or deadline.
Its NIRF filings record the support. 49 students received full tuition fee reimbursement from institution funds in the NIRF 2026 data report, against 98 in the NIRF 2025 filing. None received it from state or central government, and none from private bodies ().
Because there is no published form, this cannot be applied for in the normal way. Raise it directly with admissions@liba.edu during the admission process. The LIBA scholarship page sets out the full filing and names each gap.
The full-time LIBA PGDM costs ₹18,89,700 in total, and the latest median salary is ₹11,00,000, so the fee equals about 1.7 years of median pay. The fee comes from the 2024-26 brochure, and LIBA's admissions site shows the same total for 2026-28. The salary is for the 2023-24 graduating year, from LIBA's NIRF 2025 filing. The two figures belong to different batches, so treat the ratio as a guide. The LIBA fees page lists the full break-up. The LIBA placements page gives the salary record.
₹18,89,700
Total full-time PGDM fee
2024-26 brochure, same total shown for 2026-28
₹11,00,000
Median salary of placed graduates
2023-24 graduating year, NIRF 2025 filing
1.7 years
Fee against median salary
₹18,89,700 divided by ₹11,00,000, about 21 months
One year of median pay covers about 58% of the fee, and the full fee takes about 21 months of median pay. This guide assumes the stated pay, before tax and living cost, and no loan interest. It is a rough guide only. Hostel and deposits sit outside the ₹18,89,700, so the real cost is higher. Tax, rent and loan repayment also make recovery slower.
The return is good when your batch lands near the median, and weaker when your batch falls in a poor placement year. In 2023-24, 232 of 238 students were placed. In 2021-22, only 100 of 178 were placed, and the median was ₹7,60,000. Against the current fee, that median means about 2.5 years of pay.
LIBA publishes no salary range, no lowest package and no dated average or highest package. So you cannot tell what the lower half of a batch earns. LIBA suits you if you can repay a loan on a salary near ₹11 lakh. Check twice if your loan works only at the top of the pay range.
The Online PGDM costs ₹3,50,000, but LIBA publishes no placement data for it. The ratio above does not apply to that route. LIBA's NIRF 2026 data report shows full tuition reimbursement for 49 students, but LIBA prints no scholarship amount, deadline or partner bank for loans. Read the LIBA scholarships page before you plan a loan.
