LIBA does not publish a CAT or XAT percentile cutoff. No percentile figure appears on the LIBA admissions portal, the PGDM programme site, the full-time PGDM brochure or the main domain, for any category, for any year.
That is the honest answer, and it is worth more to you than a number somebody invented. Several sites print a "LIBA cutoff" table. None of those figures trace to LIBA.
What LIBA does publish is an eligibility bar, and it is a hard gate. You need a valid CAT 2026 or XAT 2027 score. You also need a minimum of 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and your undergraduate degree (LIBA admissions portal).
Because the three things people mix up here are not the same. Acting on the wrong one can cost you a seat.
Clearing the eligibility bar is not a promise of a shortlist. A shortlist is not a promise of admission. Anyone printing one number as "the LIBA cutoff" is collapsing three different things into one.
| What you might be looking for | Does LIBA publish it? | What LIBA does state |
|---|---|---|
| CAT 2026 percentile cutoff | No | A valid CAT 2026 score is required |
| XAT 2027 percentile cutoff | No | A valid XAT 2027 score is required |
| Category-wise cutoff | No | No category-wise figure published |
| Sectional cutoff | No | No sectional requirement published |
| Round-wise closing figures | No | LIBA runs its own shortlist, not central counselling |
| Academic eligibility bar | Yes | Minimum 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation |
| Arrears rule | Yes | More than two arrears disqualifies an applicant |
| Mode of study rule | Yes | Undergraduate degree must be from an AIU-recognised university, regular mode |

Treat any published LIBA percentile figure as unverified
LIBA has not released a percentile cutoff for any year on any of its official channels. A percentile number attributed to LIBA on a third-party site is that site's estimate, not LIBA's published figure. Do not decide whether to apply on the strength of it.
LIBA publishes no sectional CAT cutoff. It states that shortlisting happens on the CAT or XAT score. It names no minimum in any section (LIBA PGDM admissions site).
| CAT 2026 section | LIBA sectional minimum |
|---|---|
| Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension | Not published |
| Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning | Not published |
| Quantitative Ability | Not published |
| Overall percentile | Not published |
A sectional cutoff is a minimum percentile you must clear in each CAT section separately. It sits on top of the overall percentile. Some institutes apply it so a candidate cannot carry a very weak section behind a strong one.
LIBA chennai has not said whether it applies one. If your CAT profile is uneven, put that question to admissions@liba.edu in writing. Do not assume either way.
LIBA publishes no category-wise cutoff, and it publishes no reservation-based relaxation of the 60% academic bar either.
| Category | Published CAT or XAT cutoff | Published academic relaxation |
|---|---|---|
| General | Not published | None published |
| OBC-NCL | Not published | None published |
| SC | Not published | None published |
| ST | Not published | None published |
| EWS | Not published | None published |
| PwD | Not published | None published |
| Gulf, Foreign National, OCI | Not published | None published. LAT accepted as an alternative test |
LIBA describes one route separately. The Gulf, Foreign National and OCI category may use the LIBA Admissions Test (LAT) in place of CAT or XAT. That is a different test, not a lower cutoff.
LIBA is a private, AICTE-approved autonomous institute. It is not part of any state or central counselling process. So the category-wise closing ranks published for a government institute do not exist here. The LIBA admission process explains how LIBA runs its own shortlist instead.
No expected cutoff is given here, because nothing sourced supports one. An expected cutoff is only meaningful when past published cutoffs exist to project from. LIBA has published none, for any year.
What can be reasoned about honestly is competition, using LIBA's own reported numbers.
| Year | Sanctioned intake | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 2021-22 | 180 | LIBA NIRF 2024 submission |
| 2022-23 | 240 | LIBA NIRF 2024 and 2025 submissions |
| 2023-24 | 240 | LIBA NIRF 2025 submission |
LIBA increased its sanctioned intake by 60 seats between 2021-22 and 2022-23, and held it at 240 since. LIBA does not publish application volumes, so the applications-per-seat ratio cannot be calculated. More seats with unknown demand tells you nothing definite about a score threshold. That is precisely why no figure is stated here.
Work with what is published rather than a guessed percentile.
LIBA does not publish a cutoff. What follows is what verifiably moves selection at LIBA, drawn from its own published rules and filings. It is not a prediction of a percentile.
LIBA's hardest published condition is not the entrance exam. It is the requirement for 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation separately, in regular mode. No more than two arrears are allowed.
A strong CAT percentile does not rescue a Class 10 score of 58%. This is unusual. Many B-schools weight academics but do not set a hard floor across all three levels. LIBA does.
The sanctioned intake moved from 180 to 240 between 2021-22 and 2022-23, per LIBA's NIRF filings. A one-third increase in seats, against demand LIBA does not publish, is the single biggest structural change on record.
LIBA shortlists on CAT or XAT. It then runs a Written Ability Test, a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview before deciding (LIBA PGDM admissions site). A score gets you into the room. It does not finish the job.
LIBA does not publish the weighting it gives to the test score, academics, work experience or the interview. So a candidate with a lower percentile and a strong interview may well get in. A higher-percentile candidate could still miss out. Without published weightings, nobody outside LIBA can say by how much.
LIBA accepts CAT 2026 and XAT 2027. These are different papers with different difficulty and different takers. XAT carries a Decision Making section that CAT does not. A percentile from one is not directly comparable to a percentile from the other. LIBA has not said how it equates them.
LIBA moved from rank 66 in NIRF 2024 to rank 55 in NIRF 2025. A rising rank usually attracts more applications over time. LIBA publishes no application count, so this is a direction, not a number. The LIBA ranking record sets out the parameter scores behind that movement.
Answers to what readers ask most often.
LIBA publishes no CAT or XAT percentile cutoff for 2026 or any other year. The only published bar is a valid CAT 2026 or XAT 2027 score plus a minimum of 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation. Any percentile figure attributed to LIBA elsewhere is an estimate. Data Sources: admissions.liba.edu and LIBA Full-Time PGDM brochure
LIBA names no minimum CAT percentile, so no honest figure can be given here. It requires a valid CAT 2026 score and shortlists on it, then runs a Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The academic bar of 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation is the condition LIBA does state in writing. Data Sources: admissions.liba.edu and study.liba.edu
No, LIBA publishes no category-wise cutoff and no category-based relaxation of its 60% academic requirement. LIBA is a private AICTE-approved institute outside state and central counselling, so the category closing ranks published for government institutes do not exist for it. Data Sources: admissions.liba.edu
No, LIBA does not publish a sectional CAT cutoff for any section, and it does not state whether it applies one at all. It says only that shortlisting happens on the CAT or XAT score. If your CAT profile is uneven across sections, ask admissions@liba.edu in writing rather than assuming. Data Sources: study.liba.edu and admissions.liba.edu
