UCEED releases an official answer key for Part-A, the part of the exam with a single correct answer for each question, and this is confirmed and official. Many candidates do not expect this, since UCEED is best known for sketching and design aptitude, and neither has one correct answer. IIT Bombay even opens a short window before the key is finalised, during which candidates can formally object to a specific answer.
The UCEED office at IIT Bombay manages this entire process, from the first draft key to the final one. It applies only to Part-A, the computer-based half of the paper. This page explains why, further down.
This page covers everything you need on the UCEED 2027 answer key, whether you sat for the 17 January 2027 exam or are helping someone who did. It covers when the key comes out, how to download it, how to raise an objection, and how to turn the key into an estimated score. The UCEED 2027 overview page has the full exam timeline if you need context beyond the answer key alone.
UCEED runs a genuine provisional-to-final answer key process for Part-A. It includes a defined objection window before the score becomes final. This is a confirmed, official part of how UCEED works, not something candidates have to assume or hope for.

IIT Bombay has not officially announced UCEED 2027's answer key dates. It has said only that full 2027 details, including this timeline, will follow by 1 October 2026.
UCEED 2026 answer key timeline (prior-cycle reference)
20 to 28 January 2026UCEED 2026 was held on 18 January 2026. The draft Part-A answer key came out 2 days later, on 20 January 2026. The final answer key followed on 28 January 2026, after the objection window closed. UCEED 2027's own dates are expected once IIT Bombay releases the full 2027 brochure.
Read moreIf UCEED 2027 follows a similar gap, expect the draft key within a couple of days of the 17 January 2027 exam. Expect the final key roughly a week after that. This is a reasonable expectation based on the last cycle, not a confirmed date.
UCEED's answer key lives behind each candidate's own login, on the candidate portal. It is not a public PDF on the open internet.
This portal login is the same mechanism UCEED used through the 2026 cycle. It is expected to carry over for UCEED 2027.
There is no separate public download page for the UCEED answer key, because the key itself is not public. The only genuine place to check is your own login on the candidate portal.
Treat any site other than uceedapp.iitb.ac.in offering a direct "UCEED 2027 answer key PDF" with suspicion. IIT Bombay has never made this key available outside a candidate's own login.
UCEED's own brochure describes the answer key itself. It does not confirm whether a separate response sheet document is issued, the way some other computer-based exams provide one. That detail is not publicly stated, so it will not guess at it.
The answer key's coverage is confirmed, and that matters more here. UCEED's key applies only to Part-A, the 200-mark, computer-based half of the paper. Part-A is made up of NAT, MSQ and MCQ questions. Part-B, the hand-drawn Sketching and Design Aptitude section worth 100 marks, has no released answer key at all. The UCEED 2027 exam pattern page has the complete Part-A and Part-B breakdown if you need the full structure.
Part-B has no answer key, and that is by design
Part-B is evaluated manually, by two or more examiners looking at your actual drawing. There is no single correct answer to score against, so an answer key would not make sense for it. If the two examiners' scores differ by more than 10 marks, a third evaluation settles it.
So a UCEED 2027 candidate should expect one key. It covers roughly two-thirds of the total marks, not a document for the full paper.
UCEED does run a real objection process, confirmed in IIT Bombay's own brochure. It is short, and it only works one way.
Objections go through the portal only, not email
In the UCEED 2026 cycle, the objection window opened alongside the draft key on 20 January 2026. It closed on 22 January 2026 at 5:00 pm, about 2 days later. Every objection had to go through the candidate portal. The brochure explicitly states that objections sent by email are not accepted.
If UCEED 2027 repeats this pattern, expect a similarly short window right after the draft key appears. Expect it to stay portal-only too. This is likely, based on the 2026 cycle, but it is not yet officially confirmed for 2027.
Once the objection window closes, IIT Bombay reviews every submission and releases the final key. That final version, not the draft, is what your actual score is based on.
Once a draft or final key is out, you can estimate your own Part-A score using UCEED's confirmed marking scheme. Part-B cannot be self-scored this way, since it is evaluated by hand.
Part-A has three question types, each marked differently:
A worked example. Say you attempt all 14 NAT questions and get 10 right. That is 10 x 4 = 40 marks, with no penalty for the 4 you got wrong.
On MSQ, say 8 questions earn the full +4 each (32 marks). Another 4 questions earn +2 each (8 marks), and 3 score -1 each (-3 marks). That totals 32 + 8 - 3 = 37 marks.
On MCQ, say you attempt 25 of 28, getting 18 right and 7 wrong. Correct: 18 x 3 = 54. Wrong: 7 x 0.71 = 4.97, deducted. That section nets 54 minus 4.97, which is 49.03 marks.
Estimated Part-A score: 40 + 37 + 49.03 = 126.03 out of 200.
This is only an illustration of the method, not a real candidate's marks. Once your own draft or final key is out, run your actual responses through the same three-part calculation. Part-B's 100 marks are added separately, after manual evaluation. Your full UCEED score only comes together once the UCEED 2027 result is declared.
UCEED's final answer keys for past years sit in the same place as the previous year question papers. Both are on the official Downloads page at www.uceed.iitb.ac.in. Rather than repeat that full archive here, the UCEED previous year question papers page covers exactly what is available. It goes year by year, back to 2015.
The pairing itself is worth repeating here. Every year in that archive carries both the real question paper and its matching final answer key. So a UCEED 2027 candidate checking an old year gets the complete picture, not just half of it.
Answers to what readers ask most often.
Yes, IIT Bombay releases a draft and then a final Part-A answer key every UCEED cycle. This is an official, confirmed process, not a rumour.
