GMAT Answer Key 2026: Release Date & How to Challenge

A GMAT exam answer key is not published after the test, because GMAC issues none. There is no GMAT exam answer key, no response sheet and no challenge window for the real exam. You see an unofficial score on the screen at the end. The Official Score Report reaches your mba.com account in about 3 to 5 working days.

The rules below are the ones in force on 20 October 2026. GMAC announced no change for 2027, so the GMAT 2027 answer key position is the same as today. Read the GMAT result 2027 page for percentile tables and the GMAT exam pattern page for section details.

Is there a GMAT exam answer key?

No. GMAC does not issue a GMAT exam answer key for the real exam, and no candidate sees the correct answers. The questions are adaptive and confidential.

Does GMAT give an answer sheet?

No. GMAC issues no GMAT answer sheet and no response sheet. Without a GMAT exam answer key, an answer sheet would have nothing to be checked against. The only record you receive is your score report.

What does GMAT show after the exam instead of an answer key?

You get two things. The unofficial score appears on screen as soon as you finish. The report follows in your account, with the Total Score, the three section scores and a percentile for each.

The GMAT 2027 answer key has no release date, because GMAC releases no GMAT exam answer key after any test. What has a date is your score, and that timing is the one to plan around.

When will I get my GMAT score?

Expect the Official Score Report in about 3 to 5 working days, and plan for up to 20 working days. The exam pages say "3-5 days". The support articles say five business days and up to 20 business days. Trust the support articles, because they are more precise. Do not wait for a GMAT exam answer key, because the score report is the only document that arrives. See the GMAT dates 2027 page for how booking works.

You cannot download a GMAT exam answer key, because none exists. You can open your score report in your mba.com account once GMAC emails you. You cannot save the unofficial score from test day, so this report is your first record. Follow these steps.

1. Log in to your mba.com My Account.
2. Wait for the email that says your score report is ready.
3. Open the report from your account.
4. Read the Total Score, the Quantitative, Verbal and Data Insights scores and the percentile for each.

The report is free. It is not a GMAT exam answer key and does not list individual questions with correct answers. It shows your performance in these areas:

• By section.
• By programme and school, only after you send the score to a school.
• By content domain, question type and fundamental skills.
• Time management and a Review & Edit summary.

Can I see which GMAT questions I got wrong?

No. The report does not list questions with correct answers. It shows your performance by question type, content domain and fundamental skill. Use it to see which skill to fix before a retake.

No download link for a GMAT exam answer key exists on mba.com or gmac.com. Three official pages help, and all of them cover practice material, not the real exam.

Where can I find GMAT example questions and answers?

Use the GMAT sample questions page on mba.com, which holds example questions and answers. It has Problem Solving, Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning and Data Sufficiency questions, and an answer key lower on the page. This answer key covers sample questions only. Browse the GMAT question papers page for how these fit with other official practice.

GMAC issues neither a GMAT exam answer key nor a GMAT answer sheet, so there is nothing to compare. A GMAT exam answer key would also not give you a score.

Delivery is adaptive. GMAC does not publish how many questions are unscored. It also publishes no per-question difficulty and no raw-to-scaled score table. Your score depends on question difficulty and on the number of questions you leave unanswered. With a GMAT exam answer key alone, you could not rebuild that score.

You cannot challenge the GMAT exam answer key, because there is no key, no challenge window and no challenge fee. GMAC does two other things that protect your score.

The first is double scoring. GMAC states: "We score every GMAT exam twice." If the two results differ, GMAC investigates. It does not report the score until the difference is resolved. Read the official support article on score issues.

The second is the contact route. GMAC publishes no formal score review or rescoring request, and no fee for one. If your score has not arrived after 20 working days, follow the official steps for a missing score.

What can I do if I think my GMAT score is wrong?

Wait for the Official Score Report, because the second scoring check may still be running. If the report looks wrong after that, contact GMAC through the support site. Do not expect a re-evaluation like you get with other entrance exams.

What if GMAC cancels my score?

You can appeal a cancellation to testsecurity@gmac.com. GMAC typically allows this within 7 calendar days of its decision. GMAC may cancel a score for a testing issue or a policy violation. A cancelled score still counts as an attempt in your 12-month limit.

GMAT Answer Key Challenge: Frequently Asked Questions

You cannot calculate a GMAT score from a GMAT exam answer key. The score is not correct answers multiplied by marks. GMAC publishes no per-question marks and no negative marking. Your unofficial score on screen is the only result you see on test day.

GMAC names three drivers of your score:

• The difficulty of the questions you answered correctly.
• The difficulty of the questions you answered incorrectly.
• The number of questions you left unanswered.

There is a penalty for not finishing a section. If time runs out, your score drops in line with the number of unanswered questions. The scale is Total 205 to 805, in steps of 10, and every total ends in 5. Each section runs from 60 to 90. The three sections carry equal weight.

Is there negative marking in GMAT?

No negative marking is published. The real risk is leaving questions unanswered, which GMAC penalises. GMAC also lists some myths as false. A slow answer does not lower your score. Early mistakes do not ruin a section, and no question type weighs more.

How do I estimate my GMAT score without an answer key?

Take an official practice exam. GMAC says these exams use "the same algorithm, scoring, and timing as the real exam". Practice Exams 1 and 2 are free in the Starter Kit, and Practice Exams 3 to 6 are paid. Use the first one as your baseline, read the explanations and then simulate test day.
