Any admitted student can apply for this aid, whatever the caste or creed, if the family income meets the criteria. The institute counts your gross total family income. That includes your own income, your parents' income and the income of your unmarried brothers and sisters. If someone in that list does not support the family, appeal with valid proof.

You apply for need-based aid through an online form that goes to the MBA Office before a deadline.
The Only Published Form Is for 2023-24
15 August 2023The 2023-24 form had a deadline of 15 August 2023, 10:00 am, and late forms were not considered. The website carries instructions for that year only. Ask the MBA office for the form and the IIM Calcutta scholarship details 2027 for your batch.
The IIM Calcutta merit scholarships follow the sponsor's criteria, and the Scholarships and Prizes page describes no separate application for them. Government schemes need your own application to the concerned ministry. The institute helps with the paperwork. The doctoral ST fellowship runs through the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The IIM Calcutta scholarship 2027 documents are proof of gross total family income for the financial year the form names. The 2023-24 form asked for FY 2022-23 documents, and it did not accept the tax returns of the year before. Attach proof for every earning member and every income source.
| Family member | Income below Rs 2.50 lakh | Income of Rs 2.50 lakh or more |
|---|---|---|
| Salaried | ITR, or Form 16, or salary certificate | Form 16 and ITR |
| Self-employed | ITR | ITR |
| Retired | ITR, or pension certificate | Pension certificate and ITR |
The institute prefers the income tax return. It advises applicants to send the ITR alone, because other documents take longer to check and draw more questions.
A committee decides the IIM Calcutta scholarship list for need-based aid from the family income you declare. You are responsible for the facts in the form, and the committee is not.
A False Income Declaration Can Cancel the Aid
If the committee later finds a gap between the declared and the actual income, it can take punitive action. That action includes cancelling the aid and expelling you from the programme.
The Scholarships and Prizes page says the merit scholarships go to deserving students on merit and the criteria set by each sponsor. It gives prizes on first-year and second-year results.
