Yes. Final-year students can apply for IIM Calcutta admission and join provisionally. One of the IIM Calcutta admission requirements is a certificate from your Principal or Registrar. It must say you finished all degree requirements. If you miss the later marksheet deadline, IIM Calcutta cancels your registration.

Yes, but only for overseas candidates. The 2027-29 overseas route needs a GMAT total of at least 735, with at least 89 in Verbal, Quantitative and Data Insights. The test must be taken at a test centre, and a score from before 1 February 2026 is not valid. The application fee is USD 150, and the last date is 1 February 2027. How Is the IIM Calcutta Admission Procedure Different for MBAEx, PGDBA and PGPEX-VLM?
The IIM Calcutta admission procedure differs for each of these programmes, and none of them uses CAT. The MBAEx is a one-year programme for people with at least five years of work experience. The PGDBA is a two-year diploma that IIM Calcutta offers with IIT Kharagpur and ISI. For Batch 12 (2026-28), the Indian Statistical Institute ran the admissions. The PGPEX-VLM is a one-year programme for engineers with work experience, and it selects through an aptitude test and an interview. IIM Calcutta does not offer a separate MBA in Business Analytics through CAT. Its analytics route is the PGDBA.

The IIM Calcutta admission criteria for selection use two scores. Stage II is out of 85 and Stage III is out of 100. Stage I only checks the minimum percentile. Stage II: composite score for the interview call (85 marks). CAT carries 56 marks. Class 10 carries 10 marks. Class 12 carries 15 marks. Female and transgender candidates get 4 marks for gender diversity. The table shows the points for school marks.

IIM Calcutta shortlists candidates for the interview on the Stage II composite score, category by category. This part of the IIM Calcutta admission procedure is score-based. Meeting the Stage I minimum only keeps you in the list. The institute sets composite cut-offs for each category after it sees the scores. It decides how many candidates to call, and that number is at its sole discretion.

You can earn up to 8 marks, counted in completed months of service. For the 2027-29 batch, months are counted up to 31 January 2027. Only jobs after your bachelor's degree count. Internships, apprenticeships, articleship, training and unpaid work do not count.
