JMI New Delhi Courses 2026

JMI courses 2027 are the 2026-27 list until a new prospectus comes out. The prospectus counts 324 programmes across 11 faculties, as per the Prospectus 2026-27. The count includes Jamia Millia Islamia UG courses, JMI PG courses, diplomas, certificates and PhD programmes. JMI added 30 new programmes for 2026-27, as per its press release of 20 February 2026.

The new programmes include Japanese Studies, German Studies, B.Tech in Robotics and AI, and ITEP B.Ed. A Master of Hotel Management was also on that list, but JMI says it did not start in 2026-27. What Are the Flagship Courses at JMI?

The flagship courses at JMI are B.Tech, B.Arch and BA LLB Hons, because the three disciplines behind them rank in the top 25 of their NIRF 2025 lists.

NIRF 2025 ranks JMI 5th in Architecture and Planning, 8th in Law and 24th in Engineering, as per the JMI press release of 4 September 2025. B.Tech also has the highest median salary among the JMI faculty datasets, at ₹25,20,800 for the batch of 2024-25. The Prospectus 2026-27 does not call any course flagship, so this choice rests on these ranks and the placement data. These ranks are for the whole discipline, not for one branch.

Which JMI Courses Does Each Faculty Run?

Engineering and Management carry the most seats, and Humanities carries the most subjects. The table names the main JMI courses, as per the Prospectus 2026-27.

Some JMI courses sit in centres, not faculties. The AJK Mass Communication Research Centre runs M.A. Mass Communication. These are also JMI courses in the full list. The Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences runs BPT and MPT. The Four Year B.A. and B.Sc multidisciplinary programmes suit students who want a broad first degree.

Does JMI Have a Student Exchange Programme?

Yes. JMI runs short exchange visits with partner universities abroad, and the Prospectus 2026-27 calls them short-term study abroad programmes. The Office of International Relations also lists summer and winter schools and global research internships. In May 2024, 10 students of MA Human Resource Management spent 10 days at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt, Germany, as per a JMI press release of 3 June 2024. In June 2025, 12 BA (Hons) and MA Social Work students went to the same university. JMI signed an MoU with Hanyang University, South Korea, on 26 March 2025 for student and faculty exchange visits, as per a JMI press release of 26 March 2025. The Prospectus and these releases do not state eligibility or credit transfer, so ask your department.

JMI online courses and distance courses run through the Centre for Distance and Online Education, known as CDOE. JMI courses at CDOE have their own prospectus for 2026-27, and the grievance cell works under the UGC-DEB Regulations 2020. Applicants need an ABC ID and a DEB ID before they fill the form.

Which JMI Courses Are Available Online or by Distance?

JMI online courses at CDOE include BA General, BBA, BCom, BSc Biosciences, 12 master's degrees, B.Ed, MBA and several diplomas. The mode is marked as ODL for distance learning and OL for online learning. The table shows the main programmes and the yearly fee in the CDOE prospectus.

CDOE also lists two PG diplomas, one diploma, two certificates and seven advanced diplomas. The PG diplomas are in Guidance and Counselling and in Geoinformatics. None of these needs an entrance test. The PG diplomas cost ₹20,000 a year, the diploma and the certificates ₹8,000, and the advanced diplomas ₹10,000.

Eligibility for JMI courses is a base qualification plus the exam named for that programme code. JMI UG courses ask for Class 12, and JMI PG courses ask for a bachelor's degree. Marks required differ by programme, so read the entry for your own course in the prospectus. The admission page lists the exams and dates for all JMI courses.

Reserved categories get a relaxation of marks as per the prospectus. A candidate whose result is awaited can apply for most JMI courses and must show the marks at admission. These JMI courses eligibility rules come from the 2026-27 cycle.

Who Can Join the JMI Evening B.E Courses?

The JMI evening B.E courses admit diploma holders with at least one year of work experience. B.E Evening runs in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, with 60 seats each, over six semesters. The 2026 test had 80 objective questions in two hours, and up to 20 more marks came from experience. These JMI courses are self-financed.

JMI courses fees range from about ₹10,175 a year for a regular BA Hons to ₹1,55,200 for self-financed B.Sc Aeronautics.
