Think of a placement report the way you think of a school result sheet. This one prints the pass list, but not the marks. IIT Delhi publishes how many students got offers. It does not publish what those offers pay.
That is a stated policy, not a gap in reporting. IIT Delhi says it does not mention high-value packages in its own placement press releases. So the crore-plus figures that circulate every placement season carry no confirmation from the institute.
What IIT Delhi does confirm is a dated count. By December 2025, its Placement Season 2025-26 had crossed 1,275 job offers. Those offers reached more than 1,140 individual students. More than 300 were pre-placement offers, up about a third on the 2024-25 season.
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi runs its placement drive through the Office of Career Services. It runs across weeks, not one day. Recruiters register, shortlist and interview on their own schedules. That is why a running offer count tells you more here than a single results-day figure.

Now compare that with the year before. The 2024-25 season had crossed just over 1,200 offers by a similar point. Those reached roughly 1,150 students, per IIT Delhi's December 2024 update. So total offers rose by about 6%, while the number of students placed held almost flat.
Read those two lines together and the growth looks different. More students collected a second offer. Not many more students got a first one.
Pre-placement offers give the clearest year-on-year signal IIT Delhi's public data supports. More than 300 PPOs landed in 2025-26, a rise of about 33% on 2024-25.
Work that percentage backward and the 2024-25 season carried close to 225 PPOs. That is a jump of roughly 75 offers in one year. That 225 is MSM Unify's own arithmetic from the 33% rise IIT Delhi published. IIT Delhi states no PPO count for 2024-25 anywhere. Treat it as a working estimate.
A PPO arrives before the main season opens, usually after a strong internship. The company has decided to lock a candidate in early. A rising PPO count is a genuine signal of recruiter confidence. Recruiters are acting on work they already watched, not on a resume and one interview slot.
IIT Delhi's international offers moved the other way. They fell from more than 50 in 2024-25 to just over 35 in 2025-26, even as total offers rose. IIT Delhi's own updates give no reason for the drop. A strong headline number and a weaker one can sit in the same report.

IIT Delhi's placement press releases do not publish average or highest package figures. However, programme-level median salary data is available in the institute's NIRF submissions.
So treat any salary figure attached to the IIT Delhi name as unofficial. Wait until the placement office states it in writing itself.
There is one more thing to ask before you weigh the fee against the outcome. Ask the department office what the last batch actually took home, in the branch you want. A branch answer beats a campus average every time.
The current 2025–26 placement press release reports institute-wide totals and does not provide a branch-wise breakdown. IIT Delhi has published discipline-wise placement data in some earlier annual reports.
Its recruiter list does hint at where demand sits. Technology recruiters like Google, Microsoft and Amazon hire mainly from Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. They hire less often from the smaller, newer departments. That is an inference from the recruiter names, not a published percentage. This page marks it as one.
More than two dozen organisations each made double-digit offers in the 2025-26 season. Here is a sample of the sectors and names IIT Delhi has confirmed.
| Sector | Recruiters (double-digit offers, 2025-26) |
|---|---|
| Technology | Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle |
| Finance and consulting | Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Barclays, EY |
| Other named recruiters | Accenture, and more than 20 further organisations per IIT Delhi's own list |

The 2024-25 list read differently. American Express, BCG, Meesho, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments sat among the double-digit names that year. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi does not promise the same recruiters return each season. The total offer count has kept climbing regardless.
A company approaches IIT Delhi's Office of Career Services before it ever meets a student. The recruiter registers on the career-services portal. It then submits a Job Notification Form naming the role, the eligible branches and the process it wants.
That notification stays open until a set deadline. Eligible students then read it and decide whether to apply. The company either shortlists from CVs directly, or runs its own test or group discussion first. It fixes interview dates around its own schedule and the students'. It announces its selections the same day interviews finish.
IIT Delhi runs no single campus-wide interview day. Departments and recruiters keep their own schedules across the season.

Yes, pre-placement offers crossed 300, up about 33% on the 2024-25 season. That 33% is IIT Delhi's own published figure. The roughly 225 PPOs it implies for 2024-25 is MSM Unify's derivation from that percentage, not a number IIT Delhi publishes.
