MICA is an autonomous, non-profit business school in Shela, Ahmedabad, and its two-year PGDM-C has 180 seats. MICA ranked 33rd in NIRF 2025 Management, and its 2024-26 batch had a median package of ₹19.57 lakh. Admission to the 2027-29 batch needs a CAT, XAT or GMAT score, then MICAT, a group exercise and a personal interview. This page gives MICA information in one place. It covers MICA details such as courses and fees, and the MICA cutoff position. Use it to judge whether MICA fits your score, budget and plans.
MICA, the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, was founded in 1991 and is an autonomous, non-profit institute. A.G. Krishnamurthy was its founder, and the MICA Foundation sponsors it. MICA suits you if you want brand, marketing, media or consumer-tech roles and can fund a high fee. Pick the tab that matches you.
MICA is neither a government college nor a university. It is an autonomous, non-profit institute sponsored by the MICA Foundation, and it sets its own fee. Its PGDM-C is AICTE approved, and the PGDM carries AIU equivalence to an MBA.
MICA is known for marketing, brand management, advertising and communication. Its 2024-26 offers came from FMCG, e-commerce, consulting, BFSI, media and consumer tech, so the MICA focus is marketing with a wider business mix.
The MICA highlights are an NIRF rank of 33rd, a median package of ₹19.57 lakh and a fee of about ₹29.50 lakh. The figures below come from the institute's own pages and reports, and each shows its batch or year.

MICA admission 2027 for the 2027-29 batch starts with a MICAT registration that costs ₹2,500. The MICA admission process has four steps for PGDM-C and PGDM. MICAT I registration closes on 21 November 2026 at 11:50 PM, and MICAT II registration runs from 25 November 2026 to 30 January 2027. These MICA admission details change slightly for the one-year programmes.
Step 1
Register for MICAT
Pay ₹2,500. MICAT I registration closes on 21 November 2026, and MICAT II runs to 30 January 2027.
Step 2
Take MICAT and Your Entrance Exam
MICAT I is on 5 December 2026 and MICAT II on 12 February 2027. Add your CAT, XAT or GMAT score by 30 January 2027.
Step 3
Group Exercise and Interview
Shortlisted candidates face a group exercise and a personal interview. The one-year programmes use an interview only.
Step 4
Merit List and Offer
MICA releases a merit list. You may accept only one programme, and the choice is final.
These are the MICA admission requirements: a bachelor's degree of three years or more, in any discipline, with at least 50% marks. The degree must come from a university recognised by the AIU. Final-year students can apply, but must give a certificate by 30 June 2027 and the final marksheet by 31 December 2027.
MICA uses a different route for each programme, and it publishes no weightage for 2027. The tabs show the route for each group of programmes.
A CAT, XAT or GMAT score and a MICAT score, then a group exercise and a personal interview, then a merit list.
MICA placement details for the 2024-26 batch show a median CTC of ₹19.57 lakh and an average of ₹20.12 lakh. MICA reports that 197 students were placed, which is 100%, by 91 recruiters. The cards below carry the MICA placement statistics, and the MICA average package is the second card.

Consumer tech paid the highest average among the six sectors, and FMCG brought the most offers. The table shows the 2024-26 batch.

| Media and Entertainment | 34 | ₹17.21 lakh |
| Consumer Tech | 23 | ₹25.09 lakh |
| Others | 27 | ₹16.22 lakh |
The MICA highest placement package is ₹45.67 lakh for the 2024-26 batch, in consumer tech. Few students receive such an offer, so plan around the median of ₹19.57 lakh.
MICA names Google, Amazon, Deloitte, L'Oreal, Samsung, ITC and Titan on its programme pages. It also names Nivea, Flipkart, HUL, Accenture, American Express and Mastercard. The placement brochure shows recruiters as logos.
MICA publishes no cutoff percentile for CAT, XAT or GMAT, and no cutoff marks for MICAT. It prints no MICA previous year cutoff, no MICA expected cutoff and no MICA cutoff marks. It does state that section-wise qualifying criteria apply to MICAT and that the criteria vary each cycle. The MICA cutoff 2026 position is therefore a rule, not a number.
Any Percentile You See Elsewhere Is an Estimate
MICA names no minimum CAT percentile. For the PGDM, MICA adds that the quantitative cut-offs may be higher than for the PGDM-C. Treat every other cutoff figure as a guess.
MICA publishes no minimum CAT percentile, so no percentile is safe or rejected in advance. It shortlists on your CAT, XAT or GMAT score together with MICAT, then decides by group exercise and interview. Apply, and keep other colleges ready.
MICA scholarship information starts with one fact: the merit-cum-means award goes to students already studying at MICA. It covers 25% to 100% of tuition, and 25 to 30 awards go out each year across all programmes. Family income must not exceed ₹10 lakh a year.

The MICA ranking in India is 33rd in NIRF 2025 Management, with a score of 59.22. NIRF 2026 results are not published yet, so NIRF 2025 is the latest MICA ranking 2026 list. MICA has uploaded its NIRF 2026 data sheet on its site.
MICA's NIRF Management score has risen every year, though the rank slipped one place in 2025. The table shows the last four lists.

MICA accepts CAT, XAT and GMAT, and it also needs its own test, MICAT, for every programme. MICAT is computer-based and has three sections: psychometric, descriptive and aptitude. It is held at pre-assigned centres in 48 cities.
| MICA programme | Entry route | Next stage |
|---|---|---|
| PGDM-C and PGDM | CAT 2026, XAT 2027 or GMAT, plus MICAT | Group exercise and interview |

Yes. Every MICA programme uses MICAT, and it has two sittings, MICAT I on 5 December 2026 and MICAT II on 12 February 2027. Each sitting needs its own registration and its own fee. CAT, XAT or GMAT is compulsory only for PGDM-C, PGDM and Sports Management.

We read 28 Reddit threads on 10 October 2026 where MICA students, alumni and aspirants discuss the college. 21 are from 2025 and 2026. We also checked the Google rating on 10 October 2026 and read the newest written Google reviews.
We kept posts from current students, alumni and aspirants that gave a specific view, and we gave recent posts more weight.
We left out admission-chance and waitlist threads, jokes, promotions and short replies. We also left out any fee, cutoff, package or rank quoted in a post, and Quora answers that were more than three years old. We left out Google reviews about online courses sold under the MICA name, because they do not describe the college.
For most Reddit threads we could read only the post and the comment extracts that search returned, not every comment.
Most of the 60 newest Google ratings have no written text, and those with text speak about the campus. Food, mess quality and the one-year programmes had too little evidence, so we say little about them. Read the MICA admission page for the selection process.
MICA is worth it if you are sure about a marketing, brand or media career and can manage a large loan. It suits you less if you want finance, consulting or operations, or want a low-risk fee.
| 👍 Pros | ⚠️ Cons |
|---|---|
| Close-knit batch and friendly culture | Fee seen as high for the pay |
| Marketing and communication focus | Few finance, consulting or product roles |
| Green, calm campus | Basic hostel rooms and a campus far from the city |
| Placement report seen as accurate by current students | Pay is CTC, so take-home is lower |
