MNIT Jaipur runs no admission test of its own for B.Tech. Indian candidates get a seat through JEE Main and the JoSAA and CSAB counselling (JoSAA institute profile, code 202). Foreign nationals, NRIs, OCIs and PIOs get a seat through DASA, which also uses a JEE Main score. M.Tech runs through GATE and M.Sc through IIT JAM. MBA runs through CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT or GMAT, followed by a Personal Interview.
An Indian candidate does not apply to MNIT Jaipur directly for a B.Tech seat. The candidate registers for JEE Main first. Then the candidate fills the JoSAA choice-filling form, listing MNIT Jaipur and its branches in preferred order. JoSAA allots the seat, not the MNIT Jaipur admission office.
Does MNIT Jaipur have a separate application form for B.Tech? No, there is no separate MNIT Jaipur application form for B.Tech. For Indian candidates, the JoSAA choice-filling form is the only application step after JEE Main registration. DASA candidates register on the DASA portal.

These are the month-windows JEE Main and JoSAA followed in recent cycles. NTA and JoSAA release the exact 2027 dates closer to each session. Confirm them on the official portals and do not assume a past year's dates.
Is the MNIT Jaipur admission timeline different from other NITs? No, MNIT Jaipur follows the same JoSAA calendar as every other NIT. JoSAA 2026 ran five rounds, and CSAB Special Rounds 2026 ran two more for vacant seats.
| Programme | Entrance Exam |
|---|---|
| B.Tech (all branches) | JEE Main |
| B.Tech through DASA | JEE Main score |
| B.Arch | JEE Main Paper 2 |

DASA candidates need a valid JEE Main score as well. The Direct Admission section below explains the DASA route.
For M.Tech, the process runs through CCMT instead of JoSAA. It uses the GATE score in place of the JEE Main rank. Foreign nationals, NRIs, OCIs and PIOs follow the DASA process instead of JoSAA.
B.Tech and B.Arch selection is by JEE Main All-India Rank or category rank alone. There is no separate interview, portfolio or weightage for Class 12 marks, beyond the JoSAA-mandated minimum qualifying criterion. M.Tech selection weighs the GATE score as the primary criterion, per CCMT's published rules. MBA selection combines the entrance test score with a Personal Interview. Per the institute's own brochure, it also considers academic record and work experience at shortlisting (MBA Admission Brochure 2026-27).
Does MNIT Jaipur B.Tech admission involve an interview? No, B.Tech and B.Arch admission at MNIT Jaipur is rank-based through JoSAA, with no interview. Only the MBA programme includes a Personal Interview stage.
JoSAA runs the counselling for B.Tech and B.Arch, in multiple rounds. It allots seats across the Home State and Other State quotas. Categories covered are Open, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD. A candidate not satisfied with an early round's seat can float to a higher preference later. This risks losing the earlier seat if none is confirmed by the final round. Seats vacant after JoSAA's own rounds move to CSAB's special rounds. These also serve candidates who missed JoSAA registration but remain eligible.
The full closing-rank table, by branch, quota and category, sits on the MNIT Jaipur cutoff page.

Is an income certificate compulsory for MNIT Jaipur B.Tech admission? Yes, if you want a lower fee slab. The income certificate places a candidate in the correct slab. The fee circular does not say what happens without it, so carry it to reporting. The slabs are on the MNIT Jaipur fees page.
MNIT Jaipur's admission cutoff is the JoSAA closing rank. It is published branch-wise, quota-wise and category-wise after each counselling round, not as a fixed score or percentile. In JoSAA 2026 Round 5, the CSE closing rank was 6,143 (Open, Home State) and 5,868 (Open, Other State). The full table by branch and category is on the *MNIT Jaipur cutoff page.
MNIT Jaipur follows the central government's statutory reservation structure within JoSAA. That is 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC-NCL and 10% for EWS. Horizontal reservation applies for PwD candidates too. This applies within both the Home State and Other State quota pools. Home State quota is for Rajasthan-domicile candidates. It splits seats in each branch roughly 50-50 with Other State quota, per JoSAA's standard NIT seat-matrix rule.
MNIT Jaipur has no direct admission or management quota seat for B.Tech and B.Arch. The institute says Indian candidates can join these courses only through JoSAA and CSAB after JEE Main. The MNIT Jaipur admissions page lists no other way to get a seat.
| Candidate | Route to a Seat | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech or B.Arch, Indian candidate | JoSAA, then CSAB | JEE Main rank |
| B.Tech or B.Arch, foreign national, NRI, OCI or PIO | DASA scheme of the Ministry of Education | JEE Main score of the same year |
| M.Tech or M.Plan | CCMT, or institute selection for sponsored and self-financed seats | GATE score, or institute written test |
| MBA | Online application to the Department of Management Studies | Test score and Personal Interview |
| PhD | Institute selection, two intakes a year | Institute notification |
DASA stands for Direct Admission of Students Abroad. Its seats are extra to the regular seats and limited to 15% of the seats in a programme. The , version 1.5 of 27 July 2026, is the latest. It reserves 5% of seats, one-third of the DASA seats, for children of Indian workers in the Gulf.
No, not for B.Tech or B.Arch if you are an Indian candidate. JEE Main gives the rank, and JoSAA or CSAB gives the seat. Foreign nationals, NRIs, OCIs and PIOs apply through DASA, which also needs a valid JEE Main score. The MNIT Jaipur cut-offs page shows the ranks that were enough for each branch.
No management quota is listed for B.Tech, B.Arch or MBA, but M.Tech and M.Plan have sponsored and self-financed seats. Sponsored seats are for staff of a government body, a public sector unit or a recognised company, with at least two years of service. Self-financed seats number 10 per programme, and an institute written test decides them. These students need no GATE score, and they get no assistantship or scholarship. The MBA has 75 seats, filled from a category-wise merit list after the Personal Interview. PwD seats are extra.
Do Not Pay Anyone for a Seat
The MNIT Jaipur admissions page lists no paid seat and no management quota for B.Tech and B.Arch. Check your status only on JoSAA, CSAB or the MNIT Jaipur website. For a doubt, call the MNIT CSAB helpline on 0141-2715082 or +91-9549671992, or write to csab2026help@mnit.ac.in.
Fee relief at MNIT Jaipur begins at the admission stage itself, through the income-slab tuition waiver. This is not a separate post-admission scholarship application. SC, ST and PwD candidates pay zero tuition regardless of income. Merit-cum-Means and institute scholarships apply after the first semester's academic record is available. Full detail is on the MNIT Jaipur scholarship page page.
The MNIT Jaipur B.Tech costs about ₹9.6 lakh over four years with hostel. The ₹10 LPA median pay covers that in about 12 months. The cost is for a General student with family income above ₹5 lakh, from the 2026-27 UG fee circular. It adds tuition and institute fees for eight semesters, room rent and an estimated mess advance. Refundable deposits are not counted. The MNIT Jaipur fees page has the break-up.
The pay is the all-branch median in the MNIT Jaipur placements data for the 2024-25 batch. The cost is for the 2026-27 entry year, so the two batches differ. The shows a median of ₹11 lakh for the 2023-24 batch, with 603 of 733 graduates placed.

Cost as Months of Median Pay
Cost divided by one month of the median, before tax
The months equal the ₹9.6 lakh cost divided by one month of pay. One month of pay is the yearly pay divided by 12, before tax.
| Pay level | Yearly pay | Months to equal the cost |
|---|---|---|
| Civil Engineering median | ₹7.5 lakh | 15 months |
| All-branch median | ₹10 lakh | 12 months |
| All-branch average | ₹12.85 lakh | 9 months |
| Computer Science median | ₹13 lakh | 9 months |
| Highest package | ₹64 lakh | 2 months |
A graduate needs about ₹4.8 lakh a year to recover the full ₹9.6 lakh in 24 months. For 36 months, the need is about ₹3.2 lakh a year. Both figures are before tax. For the fee alone, without hostel and mess, the figures are about ₹3.3 lakh and ₹2.2 lakh. The all-branch median of ₹10 lakh is about twice the 24-month figure.
A tuition waiver shortens the recovery time more than a loan does. Tuition is zero for SC, ST and PwD students. It is also zero for families earning below ₹1 lakh, per the 2026-27 UG fee circular. The table shows the four-year cost with hostel by fee category.
| Fee category | Four-year cost with hostel | Months at ₹10 LPA |
|---|---|---|
| Income below ₹1 lakh, or SC, ST, PwD | ₹4.60 lakh | 6 months |
| Income from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh | ₹6.27 lakh | 8 months |
| Income above ₹5 lakh | ₹9.60 lakh | 12 months |
Loan illustration, not an offer: a ₹7.5 lakh loan at 9.90% for 10 years has an EMI of about ₹9,870. SBI lists 9.90% as the floating rate of its Student Loan Scheme without collateral, up to ₹7.5 lakh. The source is the SBI education loan rate page, updated 27 July 2026. The EMI is 11.8% of the median monthly pay of ₹83,333, before tax. Total interest over 10 years is about ₹4.34 lakh. The EMI can change because the rate is floating.
The return is best in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication and Electrical Engineering, and weakest in Civil Engineering. The 2024-25 median was ₹13 LPA in Computer Science and ₹12 LPA in Electronics and Communication. Electrical Engineering had ₹10.9 LPA. Civil Engineering had a median of ₹7.5 LPA, and 46 of 67 registered students (68.66%) were placed. The same cost takes about 15 months of that median, against 9 months in Computer Science.
Across all branches, 150 of 717 registered students (20.9%) were not placed in 2024-25. The report counts registered students only. The highest package of ₹64 LPA is 6.4 times the median, so plan with the median. Check twice if you pay the top fee slab or plan to rely on a loan. Also check twice if you may get a branch with a lower median. B.Arch is a five-year course with a different fee, so this ratio does not apply to it.
What the ratio does not show: it compares 2026-27 cost with 2024-25 pay, before tax. It leaves out the actual mess bill, living cost, loan interest and any wait for a first job.
