The PGPWE and IPMX use a different path. You apply online with a GMAT, GRE, CAT or GATE score, depending on the course. The institute shortlists you for a writing test and an interview. It then makes offers on the final score. The IPMX runs in three application phases, and the PGPWE in two. Neither sets a minimum score.
The IIM Lucknow admission criteria use two score formulas, one to shortlist you and one for the final merit list. CAT carries 60 of 100 marks at shortlisting and 30 at the final stage. The tabs show both scores for the MBA and MBA-SM, as in the Batch 2026-28 (CAT 2025) policy.
CAT score: 60
Class 12 marks: 10
Graduation marks: 10
Work experience: 10
Academic discipline diversity: 5
Gender diversity (women): 5
The MBA-ABM gives 35 marks to CAT at the final stage and none to work experience. At the shortlisting stage, it gives up to 20 marks for diversity in total, which includes an agriculture, science or allied degree. A non-engineering bachelor's degree earns 5 marks for academic-discipline diversity in the MBA.
The personal interview is the single largest part of the final score, at 40 marks. You must score at least 12 of the 40 marks in the interview. A candidate who fails this bar is left out of the final merit list, whatever the CAT percentile is.
The IIM Lucknow admission procedure has its own shortlisting and interview rounds. The cards show what happens at each stage.
