IIM Ahmedabad Fees 2026: Fee Breakdown Per Semester & Course

IIM Ahmedabad charges the PGP 2025-27 batch Rs 27,50,000 in total, covering both years. Of that, Rs 20,10,000 is tuition. The remaining Rs 7,40,000 covers non-tuition components the institute bundles into the same figure.

Does the IIM Ahmedabad fees figure include hostel charges?

IIM Ahmedabad publishes one combined programme fee of Rs 27,50,000, of which Rs 20,10,000 is tuition. It does not publish a separate hostel bill. Fee and duration together determine the real cost comparison. PGP runs two years for Rs 27.5 lakh, close to Rs 13.75 lakh a year. PGPX runs one year for Rs 35 to 37.1 lakh, its full year cost. Comparing the two totals without adjusting for duration overstates how much cheaper PGP looks.

On a per-year basis, PGPX still costs more than PGP. The gap works out to roughly Rs 21-23 lakh a year. That reflects PGPX's executive positioning and its shorter, more intensive format.

A candidate who receives an offer should ask the admissions office directly for the instalment dates. Do not assume a schedule this page cannot confirm. PGPX carries its own scholarship-linked adjustment at the payment stage. An entry scholarship covers up to 25% of the single-room fee, and a graduation scholarship covers up to 15%. Both reduce what a participant actually pays, rather than the headline figure. On the Rs 35,00,000 single-room fee, a 25% entry scholarship cuts Rs 8,75,000.

A graduation-linked reduction can apply on top of that. It widens the real gap between the headline fee and what a strong PGPX candidate pays. Ask about scholarship eligibility before you treat the sticker price as final.

What happens if you cannot pay the full IIM Ahmedabad fees at once?

IIM Ahmedabad publishes a refund clause in its PGP admission policy. It deducts INR 1,000 as a processing fee, citing the Ministry notification named in that policy (F. No. 21-166/2007-TS.II, dated 18 May 2007), and refunds the balance to the account the payment came from (PGP 2027-29 Admission Policy). It does not publish a date-wise deduction slab, so confirm withdrawal timelines with the admissions office.
