IIFT Delhi scholarship 2027 awards should cut costs for a small group, and none covers the full fee. The main scheme is the New Scholarship Scheme. IIFT applies it to the MBA (IB), MBA (BA), MA Economics and the integrated programme. The IIFT Delhi scholarship details below come from the 2026-28 prospectus and the IIFT policy of January 2023.
A Fee Concession Is Not a Scholarship
SC, ST and PwD students get 50% off tuition on the full-time programmes. IIFT calls this a fee concession. It is separate from the means-cum-merit scholarship.
The IIFT Delhi scholarship saves 20% of tuition. It does not cover the hostel or other charges, so plan against tuition only. On the MA Economics tuition of Rs 3,50,000, that is Rs 70,000. IIFT does not print tuition for the MBA (IB) apart from the total fee of Rs 21.82 lakh. Work out 20% of tuition after you get the offer letter. The OPJEMS award is a flat Rs 1.5 lakh.
The IIFT Delhi scholarship schemes fall into three groups: IIFT's own scheme, government schemes and outside awards. The cards list each award. They differ in who can apply and who pays.

The Need Based Scholarship was an interest subsidy on loans for families under Rs 6 lakh. It ended for students admitted from AY 2023. Ignore pages that still list it.
IIFT has no pure IIFT Delhi merit scholarship on merit alone. The merit part of the New Scholarship Scheme rewards your CGPA, but family income carries 70% of the score. IIFT also nominates its toppers for the OPJEMS award.
IIFT lists central schemes through the National Scholarship Portal. They cover SC students, ST students, OBC, EBC and DNT students, and students with benchmark disabilities. Apply on the National Scholarship Portal, and not through IIFT. The government pays such an award, not IIFT.
IIFT Delhi scholarship eligibility starts with full-time admission and a family income below Rs 8 lakh a year. IIFT can revise the ceiling, and the student must complete the programme. The table lists each IIFT Delhi scholarship scheme and who can apply.
| Scheme | Who can apply |
|---|---|
| New Scholarship Scheme | Full-time students, income under Rs 8 lakh |
| OPJEMS | Nominated from the top 10 of each year, Delhi |
| Exim Bank | SC or ST topper |
| Central schemes | Eligible SC, ST, OBC, minority, disabled students |
Any full-time student at IIFT Delhi can apply under the New Scholarship Scheme. The family income must be under Rs 8 lakh from all sources. The MBA (IB), MBA (BA) and MA Economics are all covered. The weekend and online MBAs are not full-time courses, so they are excluded.
Yes, the MBA (BA) is a full-time programme, so the same IIFT Delhi scholarship eligibility rules apply. The OPJEMS award is for the MBA (IB) only.
You apply for the IIFT Delhi scholarship after admission, and IIFT has not published a form or a date. Ask the admission cell for IIFT Delhi scholarship information and the form when your offer arrives. Call 011-39147213 or write to admission@iift.edu. The tabs show the route for each award.
Any student with a family income under Rs 8 lakh can apply for the IIFT Delhi scholarship. Ask the admission cell for the form after you join. IIFT prints no deadline.
Apply for the IIFT Delhi scholarship as soon as you join. IIFT gives no deadline, so ask the cell in your first month.
Only in part. The IIFT scheme does not pay you if another scholarship gives the same amount or more. If the other award is smaller, IIFT pays the balance.
IIFT lists no documents for the IIFT Delhi scholarship. The table shows what the scheme rules suggest you should keep ready. Confirm the exact list with the admission cell before you apply.
| Document to keep ready | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Family income proof, all sources | Income carries 70% of the score |
| Marksheet showing your CGPA | CGPA carries 30% of the score |
| Category certificate | Needed for the 50% concession and category awards |
For the National Scholarship Portal schemes, follow the portal's own checklist for the year. It decides the documents.
A committee scores each applicant, and the highest scores win the IIFT Delhi scholarship. The committee has two senior faculty, an academic officer, a finance officer and a student representative. The score is 70% means and 30% merit. The tables show the bands.
| Family income | Means score |
|---|---|
| Up to Rs 5 lakh | 100% |
| Rs 5 to 6 lakh | 90% |
| Rs 6 to 7 lakh | 80% |
| Rs 7 to 8 lakh | 70% |
| CGPA | Merit score |
|---|---|
| 3.50 or more | 100% |
| 3.00 to 3.49 | 90% |
| 2.50 to 2.99 | 80% |
| 2.00 to 2.49 | 70% |
The final score is 70% of the income score plus 30% of the CGPA score. An income of Rs 4 lakh and a CGPA of 2.2 gives 0.7 x 100 + 0.3 x 70, which is 91. If more students qualify than there are awards, the higher scores win. The prospectus says the scholarship is paid at the end of each trimester or semester. The 2023 policy says after the programme. Ask the cell which rule applies to your batch before you rely on it for your first-year budget.
IIFT does not publish how many students receive the IIFT Delhi scholarship. The scheme covers 10% of admitted students. On the 2026-28 seat counts, that is about 24 of the 240 MBA (IB) students at Delhi. For the MBA (BA), it is about 6 of 60 students. The MA Economics, with 100 seats, would get about 10.
| Award | Number a year |
|---|---|
| New Scholarship Scheme | 10% of admitted students |
| OPJEMS | Up to 10 nominees from each year |
| Exim Bank | 1 SC or ST topper |
These IIFT Delhi scholarship details are counts from the scheme rules, not records of who received an award.
About one in ten admitted students gets the means-cum-merit scholarship, as the rule says. For OPJEMS, IIFT nominates up to 10 students from each year, and the OP Jindal Group decides who gets the award. Most students fund their fee with savings or a loan, not a scholarship.
