Coleg Cambria Unveils Suite of Higher Education Programs For Students

From September, prospective students can apply to pursue foundation degrees in Criminal Justice, Tourism and Hospitality, and Sport Coaching at the University Centre of the northeast Wales institution.

The Merseyside university, which is ranked 49th in the United Kingdom, will certify the courses (Times Higher World University Rankings).

Key Takeaways:

  • Coleg Cambria has established a number of higher education opportunities for prospective students.
  • Students interested in pursuing foundation degrees in Criminal Justice, Tourism & Hospitality, and Sports Coaching can apply.
  • Students can study online if necessary. LJMU and Coleg Cambria are collaborating on a new website and student guide.

According to Emma Hurst, Dean of Higher Education and Assistant Principal at Coleg Cambria, working with Liverpool John Moores is a terrific USP for these programs.

The three programs will prove popular with learners in northeast Wales and beyond through the state-of-the-art facilities of the institution at Yale Wrexham and Deeside.

Sports Coaching will be taught at Deeside for two years, with the option of continuing on to Liverpool John Moores University’s (LJMU) world-renowned School of Sport and Exercise Sciences for a year to finish a BSc.

Criminal Justice will be taught in person at Yale Wrexham over two years (subject to validation), with modules including History of Crime and Criminalisation, Media, Public and Criminal Justice, and the Criminal Justice System.

Tourism and Hospitality Management will be taught face-to-face at Yale Wrexham, with the option to continue and ‘top-up’ in a different field, and Criminal Justice will be taught in person at Yale Wrexham over two years (subject to validation).

If necessary, students can study online. Coleg Cambria is partnering with LJMU as it launches a new website and student guide, bringing its higher education offering to the next level.
