Adelphi Releases Enhanced COVID Mitigation Measures for Spring 2022

Adelphi University’s Health and Wellness team is implementing enhanced mitigating measures to keep the university community safe, which will be in force until March 1, 2022, when the institution reevaluates its protocols to see if these should be changed or continued.

Before arriving on campus, all community members must complete a daily health test using the AU2GO smartphone app.

Key Takeaways:

  • Adelphi University’s Health and Wellness team is putting in place more mitigating measures to keep the university community safe.
  • Adelphi will resume random surveillance testing of all Adelphi residents on a regular basis in order to track infection rates in the community.
  • Masks are still required at Adelphi for all indoor areas and where social distance is not attainable, regardless of an individual’s vaccination status.

Adelphi will also resume random surveillance testing of all Adelphi residents in order to measure infection rates in the community on a regular basis.

Each week, 10 percent of those who visit the campus locations will be chosen at random to get Vault at-home test kits in order to submit a test.

Throughout the semester, Adelphi will collaborate with vendors that have been approved by the U.S. government. For anyone in the community who wants to be tested more frequently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will arrange pop-up testing by appointment.

Masks are still necessary at Adelphi for all interior locations and when social distance isn’t possible regardless of immunization status.

Medical/surgical masks, rather than fabric masks, are extensively encouraged at Adelphi University. Medical masks are provided for free at a number of Adelphi locations to anyone who needs them.

Adelphi health and wellness ambassadors and public safety officials will be stationed around the Garden City campus, learning centers, and Panther shuttles to ensure that the community adheres to the existing health and safety procedures.

With reports of COVID-19 instances continuing to climb as the university approaches the Spring 2022 term, Adelphi continues to protect the health, safety, and well-being of all Adelphi students, faculty, and staff.
